  1. For now! We'll see what happens after our federal election this fall.
  2. It is the price I have to pay to live in the country with the most freedom. #sorrynotsorry #gocanucks
  3. The following is a rant. And yes, I am aware I make the same rant every. damn. album. release. I got a shipping notification on October 1st, definitely not enough time to get to my Canadian prairie home in time for Friday's release. It's a little frustrating that even a lot of US people seem to be getting delayed considering a few weeks ago the Wilco Facebook page was boasting that if you pre-ordered they'd ship it so it arrives on release day. I don't understand how some companies, like Sub Pop or Merge, ship their stuff in a way that even international orders arrive on time, yet Kung Fu, FOR
  4. I'm sorry but the best way to rank the WIlco albums is alphabetically: A Ghost Is Born AM Being There Ode to Joy Schmilco Sky Blue Sky Star Wars Summerteeth The Whole Love Wilco (The Album) Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
  5. Yeah, I thought he asked a few questions that I've never heard asked before, especially to a non-Jeff Wilco member, about the inner workings of the band. Stuff that a nerd like me would find interesting. But he cut off almost all of Mikael's explanations with questions that weren't as interesting. When Mike was explaining that the band members were all technically employees, the host never let him finish that and at one point shortly after, I believe Mike tried to sum it up as "it's pretty casual" which I interpreted as everyone's obligation/relationship to Wilco, which is very interesting, bu
  6. Someone on the Facebook group didn't know what they were talking about?? I don't believe it!! Ok I do believe it.
  7. Hey Paul, another great run of Wilco reviews. Thanks for all you do. See you in Saint Paul?? And thanks to everyone else for adding their thoughts for this one. In regards to "Pat Watch", I feel like people were expressing these concerns about Pat before the hiatus as well. You never know what someone like him is dealing with, both in the band and in person, but my guess would be he's just focused on stage.
  8. Reminds me of seeing Japanese Breakfast last year and a group of people were dancing with a pineapple that eventually found it's way on stage. Seems like bringing a random object might be the cool new way to get noticed by the band. Dozens! No, but seriously. These posts regularly get 300ish views. I wonder if that's unique views? Or are the tens/dozens of us refreshing for updates sending the count up?
  9. Was it nice to watch them without two randos yelling "turn up the vocals!" in between every song?? That's right, SHADE THROWN!
  10. How did bbop get into the theatre before Pat?? Can he exist in multiple places at once?! Is that how he attends so many concerts?? I need answers.
  11. Thanks! Really excited to explore the Twin Cities for the first time, I would have gone down if it was just one show but the fact that it's three is very exciting
  12. It's a pretty good video and I definitely LOL'd at the shot of the Marina Towers. It's good to see the rest of the band represented so much.
  13. Three dates in St. Paul, 11/22, 11/23, 11/24. I should be in for all three.
  14. So we're just waiting for the live debuts of Quiet Amplifier, Citizens, and We Were Lucky?
  15. This is a good post. I'm sure I've said it before but John Stirratt's bass playing on Schmilco is criminally underrated.

That line up is stacked. Kudos to whoever organized it. It's ridiculous. Too bad it's CD only, I would gladly buy this on vinyl. Also, Parquet Courts... mashing Handshake Drugs and I Got You??
  17. If you care about being able to see Bob, third is about as close as you want to get, depending on how high the stage is. If you get too close (first or second row) you won't be able to see him when he's on the piano, which was the case for a lot of people who bought $400 VIP tickets when I saw him a few years ago. Meanwhile I was sitting back in row 4 with one of the best views in the place. All the sound was coming directly from the speakers on each side of the stage so it sounded great.
  18. You know we're living in the future when you can't immediately tell the difference between person and bot
  19. I Thought I Held You has a certain amount of charm to it. Or maybe it's just the nostalgia.
  20. Hey Kidsmoke, LenCrown is almost certainly a bot. Like the other bots they're just pulling keywords from somewhere and trying to match with a relevant post from somewhere else.
  21. Yeah that was the reason. However, after she announced the hiatus someone anonymously online accused her and her family of being sex traffickers. It got to the point where she had to publicly comment. Obviously not true but if she was already feeling stressed/drained/whatever I can imagine that made things much worse.
  22. I'm by no means a huge SKM fan, but you should check out Benji as well. Last night he was just "singing" and had a guy on piano. He talked about how he just doesn't want to play his old material but seemed very self aware that his new stuff isn't for everyone. This was in Winnipeg which doesn't get a lot of concerts so you would have thought it would be fairly well attended but there was probably only 100-200 people there. So I suspect, at some point in the future, whether consciously or not, he'll feel the need to do more appealing music. Oil Can Boyd - yeah, in prep for this show I tried to
  23. Update: Mark was on stage for two and a half hour. He told a lot of stories set to piano music. He sang.... maybe four songs. That's a pretty good double bill! Enjoy!
