Ahh good practice remembering what is what in my G scale.
-
5 string! Yeah, I encountered the 6-string banjo problem when I was trying to learn Neil Young's Old King.
-
That's interesting. Hmm, it could possibly be some sort of guitar/banjo (by that I mean those banjos with guitar necks) maybe? To me it's always sounded like a banjo so I never questioned it.
-
I edited this topic... sooo bump!
-
Question!: Are you planning on arranging the banjo in What's The World Got In Store for guitar or leaving it as banjo? I ask because I've always wanted to play that song on my banjo.

Dude! I am so excited. I love love love Power Tabs and I've always been pissed off with the complete lack of Wilco in the archive. I'd love to help you but my ears aren't sooo good. However, I know lots and lots of music theory if you need any help with the staff and things like that. p.s. great Venus tab!
-
You can covert power tab over into ASCII or whatever they call it so you can txt it up!
-
Power Tab is by far the greatest tab program. It can create midi compositions of your tabs. It's what Jeff uses to write!! (I made that last part up).
-
Very well done! Maybe this weekend I'll go get some strings capable of going to C6. Last night I went to this guitar store that had 3 or 4 vintage lap steels from the 40s... they were so incredible. All reasonably priced as well. They also had a pedal steel! Your right, I can't make this sound right without a volume pedal!
-
If you can scan it I can type it into a tab! And probably arrange it for some other tunings as well.
-
This tab was originally for "Forget the Flowers" but I've decided to broaden it. Does anyone have any Wilco banjo tabs. Forget the Flowers, What's The World Got In Store, any Uncle Tupelo, etc etc!! I'd really appreciate it. The difficult thing about learning a new instrument like this (I already play guitar) is the lack of music that I'm familiar with to play on it.

No Vancouver date? Edmonton and Calgary but no Vancouver? Lame! I mean fuck, they're playing Halifax but not Vancouver?!
-
Oooh man, here's hoping for a Vancouver date.
-
Hey jhc, what happened with that Jesus etc lap steel tab you were going to post a few months back??
-
Bob Dylan's Beard
-
Ehh you have Em there, I think its E major.
-
Anyone have the banjo tab for this? (for the record version of course)
-
I voted for your picture. Lots of pictures with babies...!
-
I didn't know they used the Micro Modular, I thought it was just the Nord Lead 2x.
-
Also, if anyone cares, the slide line from The Ruling Class works well on lap steel.
-
Does anyone think a mod could edit the original post and put everything in the "code" tags so all the lines line up equally?
-
I could probably convert it to open G! The Artisans are suppose to be nice, for their price, and now they have legs, which is cool, I might buy me one to keep in an alternate tuning. I have the Fender FS-52 (the white version). It sounds just as good as it looks, it's probably around 350 US. (grr! I swear I posted this last night!)
-
Well if it's in open G then it shouldn't be too difficult to figure out his songs. I'm trying to get the KCRW "When Roses Bloom Again" but my ears aren't too good. It's nice to see there's more steelist on these boards.
