  1. As a teenager we will still try to shield them, it's just natural. However, as teenagers we are not our kids hero anymore, we become the outsider. All we can hope for is we implant good taste, good judgement. Why you start young...
  2. You aa a parent will know when and if you take your child to see a showl The artist or band matters as well as the venue... At age 4 you should be subjective, that is our job to be. As teenagers, well we cannot sheild them from all the world holds...
  3. I wouldn't say your an ass, maybe you just shouldn't have kids... JMO... Why shouldn't children be a part of rock n' roll? Grant it I don't know what "They Might Be Giarts" is. I'm sorry that your times with Wilco have been mared... I rather expose my kids to things I love, enjoy, find pleasure in, like a live show of WILCO...
  4. This would be so kool. One of my goals in life is to go to Red Rocks for Wilco! Wonder how long it takes to drive there? Only other artist I'd travel for to Red Rocks would be Van Morrison.... Well Neil Young maybe...
  5. Do take your kid. Like most have said, some things you have to expect, venues matter most. We all know how a concert makes us feel and to have your child experience it. My children, grown now, still go to concerts, sometimes with me But it is something we can share together... I've even started with festivals with my grandbabies.. Wilco is a great band to expose your kid too!
  6. Not sure if this has been asked, forgive me if it has, been off line for a good many months lately. But where do you think the name comes from? or about? You Are My Face.... They opened with this song in Athens, GA and for me that was way kool... I love this song!
  7. Regretfully I can not attend Asheville. I have two tickets for sale. Since I am limited to the internet please call this number if you are interested and we will work out mailing and payment. Thanks, Bonnie 404-395-1284 Ticket 1... OL Row F Seat 2 Ticket 2... OC Row Q Seat 5
  8. sweet potato fries i'll have to be sure and check this place out...
  9. I agree the open area isn't good for a show... if we are lucky Wilco will play the seated area this time around. I've seen several shows in both areas, so we can hope they go for the seated area. I enjoyed Thomas Wolfe last time too, but I guess we all have unpleasant venue issues... like in ATL, I can't stand Lakewood/HI-FI Buys/ or whatever they are calling it now. The lawn is better but your so far away and the pit can get you hurt... like Jack Johnson recently, man I thought I was going to be mushed... I'm just happy that Wilco is coming to town... Hey does any one know about the Birmi
  10. I waited only about 30 minutes... I did go during mid-day 3-ish, then back to work... Covington, Georgia
  11. She also plays in "The Secert Life Of Bees" that was just released on the 17th... Such sad news. We must not waste a moment to tell the ones we love "I love You" or hug them each time you see them. You just never know if that will be the last hug you ever get from them.
  12. MOVIE TRAILER A wonderful movie, book was great! It just came out Friday...Cast was spot on with the people in the book..

  15. I asked Pat and then even Jeff in Jaxs to "please :pray" play Wishful Thinking in Charleston... Will I ever get to hear this song live?
  16. Are ya'll gonna be around earlier in the day, ya know, how 'pre-show' ya'll gonna start? I'll be leaving Jacksonville after the show and head on Charleston way for the night, I hope to visit the graveyards or sullivan's island earlier in the day, was going to last month when I was out that way, but.... I'm staying the Days Inn near the PAC and closer to the show will meet up with some fellow VC'ers, guess they would or might go to Wild Wings???.... But downtown isn't far, but traffic would be tricky the closer to show time...
  17. One of my Sunday visits to the local Longhorn Steak house... I was thinking, listening to the tunes, how great it would to be to hear Wilco playing.... About 3 songs later... I think to myself, I know that song, OMG it's 'Pick Up The Change'

  23. I have Jeff Tweedy's autograph on a Son Volt ticket stub... JT said... "you sure, I wouldn't want to ruin it for you." I said... "it doesn't ruin anything for me, because you wouldn't have one without the other."
  24. I also have lots and lots of vinyl... 45's, 78's, 8 tracks, reel to reel (these are mostly the family church singings)... Not sure how rare some are but here are a few off the top of my head... (kinda hard to think of all the things, posters, t-shirts, vinyl...but so much fun collecting) GrandFunk, (can't think of the name of the album), but the vinyl is yellow. Ozzy, Rolling Stones and a couple other vinyls with the faces of the bands on it. Pink Floyds, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn in excellent shape (years to find this one) Rolling Stones, Some Girls, the orginal with the sta
