  1. Loved the show... sadly was about a mile from the stage in the back right corner. but it all sounded wonderful, and have newfound respect for some of the new songs. i had gotten into a faux-argument with a guy behind me about how dissapointed i was with 'sky blue sky' as an album, and how not one song would make it into my top 20 wilco songs. i still believe that the album isn't by any means a standout in wilco's catalog, but the live performances of such songs as "hate it here" and "shake it off" (two of my previous least favorite songs) gave them incredible new light. i especially admire the
  2. French Saddle Creek band The Berg Sans Nipple just released 'Along the Quay' and it's unbelievable, if you like dance music. It's so chill. Also, the Field is excellent, God Save the Clientele, Feist's new album, and to cap it off, give the new Bright Eyes a try. It's not half bad.
  3. Never quite got into this guy... is he any good? comparisons? I'm also awaiting the New Pornographers. Without Neko on board they'll have to make up some ground since Twin Cinema, which was in my opinion their best work. And contained their best individual song, 'Stacked Crooked.' Brings chills... Other than that, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah has already come out. I doubt Radiohead actually releases the new one. They're in a position now to do whatever they want. Thom's solo album last year was amazing though. I'm actually down with the electronic stuff if they can keep it like Kid A/Amnesiac.
  4. I got tickets last week...Wasn't sure if I was going to be able to make it. I got screwed and put in the very back corner. Oh well who stays back there anyway? Anyone on here planning on going? I'm nervously excited...Also thrilled that Low is opening.
  5. oh my lord. in my hometown? little asheville? this is just unbelievable. the orange peel is a pretty cool venue...i will definitely be in attendance at least one night.
  6. i cannot wait...my friend is burning me it tommorow. i'll buy it, don't worry. i'd like to reintroduce myself...
  7. oh lord also: I refuse to cry/On roads that are paved/with men who behave/like they know where they're going. -bob dylan's 49th beard
  8. "and as your spine starts to shine, you shiver at your sould a fist so clear and climbing punches a hole in the sky, so you can see for yourself if you don't believe me. there's so much less to this than you think." -less than you think In my opinion, one of Wilco's most underwhelming songs as far as music has one of the best choruses in Tweedy's catalogue. I also love all of the lyrics of Cars Can't Escape and Venus Stop the Train
  9. no question here. jenny lewis is mad attractive too

  11. Sparklehorse-It's a wonderful life Really amazing live.
  12. I saw Sparklehorse on Saturday night at the Grey Eagle in Asheville, NC and I was really pleasantly surprised. What do you guys think about the band? I loved it, and have since obtained the album "It's a wonderful life" and it's constantly on. I think they're terrific, and I'm still pissed I had to leave after like 10 songs.
  13. i'm in love with him. i'm really into 'transfiguration of vincent' right now. i'm getting post war soon. jealous of those seeing him..
  14. I'm in on this, I missed the last one. Isn't it just 10 songs? Mine will be good.
  15. i want to go so bad. 6 hours seems reasonable..
  16. With new songs being unveiled in the live sets, I'm getting all excited about the new album. I dont care if Taylor Hicks is on it. Well... My personal favorite is "Let's Fight." Anyone?
  17. Haha all of this is fuckin ridiculous. Sorry to have said that, it's just personally, I found Beatle Bob annoying. He came on during a lot of my favorite bands sets and distracted me and possibly them. I did find it funny how he announced several of the bands "the GREATEST BAND IN THE WORLD" I think he did that for both Sonic Youth and after the New Pornographers he said something about that. But I think that Wilco echoed my sentiment by fencing off the stage area and allowing Beatle Bob to dance around backstage. No problem with that, I just don't want him dancing around while I'm trying to b
  18. what a terrific show. that was equal to an epic wilco show in my opinion. it was such a special experience for everyone. i really love that amphitheater; maybe jeff will make it a regular solo venue (unlikely) but it seemed like he really enjoyed the atmosphere. I'd like to thank all the people who were right in front of the stage for sitting down so us in the stands and lawn could see. the size and setting of the amphitheater was superb, and how great is it to have such a loyal and kind fanbase. Jeff is definitely proud, as based on his long diatribe to that guy about confidence. that was
  19. Oh I also met Beatle Bob after the Chili Peppers. I felt bad, he was a nice guy (although quite smelly). I had been making fun of his ridiculous dancing and annoying presence onstage all week. I thought it funny how Carl Newman of the New Pornos treated him. "Oh...good. Bob's having fun. Cmon out Bob." Bob then came out and danced during "It's only divine right" and made a fool of himself. Thank god he didn't come on during Wilco, I would've threw stuff at him. He would've made it less of a great show. But I did see him backstage near Sue and the kids. Dancing, of course.
