  1. Have you heard of Hop on Pop? I'm sure Todd will post. Mr. Rainn plays, too, right? P.S. I can be an asshole, but no dig here. I'm a musician as well.
  2. I thought that was the Crush the Cities one. Either way, that one is probably my favorite so far.
  3. Argument starter? The choices and reasons in this list are bizarre that's for sure. But how do you respond to this "Via Chicago is overrated because you don't like the vocal anymore?" Ok, fine. They also play it live, there are demos, etc. The underrated list is so off mark. All of the underrated ones are pretty much fan favorites. The only one that they could have a case with is Shot In The Arm for being overplayed and they don't even go that angle. And to post a link to an article that calls Via Chicago creepy and completely generalizes it, and that's supposed to be an argument starter? F
  4. Body of Lies is worth watching.
  5. Nationalizing banks? I'm no expert on this, but I've read the FDIC is taking over smaller banks at about a rate of 2 per week, so we're already doing this to some degree. In regards to the larger ones, I'm not in favor or against nationalization, per se. I would like a working solution. My problem is that both banks and insurance companies have been screaming bloody murder, talking about a catastrophic future if they aren't saved. Well, ok, if this is true, the fiscally responsible thing to me is to look at each of these catastrophic possibilities case by case and see how we can fix them inste
  6. Aaaaah!!! Just realized I have class during the draft. The class is one night a week and I have the two previous weeks off from it so there is no way I can miss this class. Has anyone had any experience with doing it auto with player rankings? Am I just screwed?
  7. Overall, this album didn't grab me right away, probably because it's all over the place, but there are some really great tracks. And the uncohesiveness doesn't really matter when you see them live, and the tracks are way better live anyway. Great songs, good album. And in case anyone hasn't seen this, this is pure awesomeness: http://www.blackcabsessions.com/sessions.php? id=1212166715
  8. Jnick, thanks for the link. Do you know if that Charlie Rose interview is available online anywhere? Also, to start, should I jump into Infinite Jest or start with some short stories or something? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Your passion for DFW has finally worn me down into convincing me to read some. Thanks!
  9. My venue and ticketmaster lists Rick Gee's Jazz Jamm (yes, two m's on Jamm) as the act for that date. Hopefully it's a mistake or they will perform Jazz Odyssey together and some sort of monster will eat Rick Gee.
  10. They're coming to my town and I just got a tax refund. Tits.
  11. I'm all for it but what does this have to do with mods?

Wikipedia says to join a music theatre production. They cite an article from The Wire, but I can't find a copy of the article online.
  13. That pitchfork review is very well-written. I often don't like their reviews because they can sound like they've already made up their mind before listening to the record. But here, they make a strong case, and I agree with most of their points.

  15. I live in Florida. I forgot that it's still winter.
  16. This story will be featured on tomorrow's (Tuesday 3/3) episode of Oprah. Check your local listings.
