  1. That's funny. I never heard of that place until I saw it in Californication. I think Hank gets carjacked in front of one.

I still like Shake It Off. Not as good as Side with the Seeds, but still a great tune. I gotta say On & On & On is getting better with every listen. I thought it was all right when I first heard it, but I'm now appreciating how well it's written and how hauntingly powerful it is emotionally. And that keyboard solo is excellence.
  3. I didn't get that either, but when I went back and read it with that new nugget of info, that's one of the funniest things I've read all day "The DD owners of the one in my town are Chinese, and the ones who own the DDs in the town I work in are Brazilian"
  4. I wish I had a redneck relative who would send me these things. I always hear about these right wing nut job emails but I never get to see them One of the most disturbing things I've seen (I give em credit from the creativity) is a picture of obama dressed like Mr. T saying "Gimme Yo Change" and Obama O8 is written in an Arabic font. Also, along with Mr. t's gold chains, he has a necklace with the Obama logo but it's modified to look like a Muslim crescent moon. See rightwingstuff.com for more moronic in(s)anity.
  5. I totally agree with this and this is driven home by the statement McClellan makes about Bush's presidency being a continuous campaign. Rove has no concern for reality or truth or anyone's well being. He is pure propaganda. This administration has repeated false claims so many times, they don't even know the truth anymore. It's like a fantasy camp. But instead of rocking out or playing baseball with legends, you lose your house, your job and your cousin dies in a far off country.
  6. Here's Karl Rove on Hannity & Colmes responding to McClellan. I love the "left-wing blogger" line. ROVE: Two things, first of all, this doesn't sound like Scott. It really doesn't. Not the Scott McClellan I have known for a long time. Second of all--sounds like somebody else, it sounds like a left-wing blogger. Second of all, if he had these moral qualms he should have spoken up about them. And frankly I don't remember him speaking up about these things, I don't remember a single word. There were people on the White House staff, colleagues of mine that had doubts about this or that p

    Where is "Let's Fight"?
  8. Yesterday I was hungover and when I got to work I had an intense pee shiver, almost orgasmic. I like pee shivers. I get them more when I'm tired and/or dehydrated.
  9. You're gonna need Planet Waves, Before the Flood, Live 1966, Self Portrait, and The Band's Rock of Ages. I can't think of anymore Dylan and the Band albums right now but that's music at it's perfection. (No Direction Home has a couple, too.)
  10. I'll have to check and see how mine's going later. The DVD with the ACL performance w/ Bright Eyes downloaded really quick but the others are taking a while.
  11. I downloaded a few of them off of Hunger City this weekend and they should be seeding now (at work so can't guarantee)
  12. New Morning, Planet Waves, Nashville Skyline, Bringing it All Back Home. I know a lot of people don't like Self-Portrait, there are some gems on there, too.
  13. I remember that Muzzle of Bees being particularly good, especially Nels' work.
  14. I messed around with the random generator and fond one I like: Clutch Cream Edit: Another winner: Donkey of the Hot Pink
  15. There was a band called "Free Beer & Chicken". They played a show with Karl Denson in NYC and he joked the band should be Free Crack and Food Stamps. That's probably still available
  16. I guess you ended up not doing that cause I'm sitting there! Can't wait for the show. It's gonna be good. I requested summerteeth on their website for this show.
  17. I download quite often and if I like it I usually buy it so I can listen to it in the car. A real cd sounds a lot better than something I've burned for whatever reason (sometimes the spacing between tracks just isn't right on a burned cd). I don't see downloading as that big of a deal. It's good for a band's PR. Most bands make most of their money on tours anyway. By downloading I've discovered a lot of bands that I would never have gone to their shows if I didn't hear the album first for free. Plus people have copied cassettes and CD's from each other for a long time. If it's from my nex
  18. I play the F#dim chord as 2x1212 and it sounds pretty good. For the last verse and coda I play Dmaj7 and Gmaj7#11 Dmaj7: xx0222 Gmaj7#11: 3x0022
  19. If you're into jazz at all, a great book is The Jazz Theory Book by Mark Levine. It is comprehensive and large. You could study this as a beginner all the way up to the most advanced. It's real easy to use and lots of examples. It's for any instrument (no tab). It's great not just for jazz but for anyone who wants to have an understanding of how music works so that you can improvise. It will show you how to sound good playing very simply and why it sounds good. Then show you how to sound "out" and give you lots of ideas on how to develop different ways and approaches to playing. Really goo
  20. I've stop keeping track at this point but recently Yonder Mountain String Band and Greyboy Allstars. I like them both but both times I was really wasted and Yonder I got into for free. I have one friend that I used to go to lots of shows with and he never finished a show. Usually had to do with getting in a fight or drugs or police though
  21. Prince doing Creep. Haven't heard it yet since I'm at work but I jst found. Seemed post worthy. Enjoy. Video
