  1. Really? The chorus on evil urges has prince style phrasing. The bridge is high falsetto and doesn't remind me of prince but the chorus certainly does. At least reminds me of Gene Ween's impersonation of Prince.
  2. Phish- "Lengthwise" & Lenghtwise" from Rift
  3. Loving it. I also like prince though, which it sounds like a lot of people here don't. I really like touch me i'm going to scream pt 2.

    New Shows

Breakfast with Wilco refers to this morning's webcast, not a novelty cereal as I had hoped.
  9. Impossible Germany at Publix (Grocery store)
  10. I agree with this. Nels adds a lot to a lot of songs like Shot in the Arm and Ashes of American Flags plus many others. I love his playing, but I know what you mean. I loved the PBS Soundstage with Jeff playing lead. Handshake Drugs particularly amazing
  11. Thanks. I need one of those suits
  12. I contacted him and it is in fact LeRoy Bach.
  13. Always been more of a Who fan than Stones. Better musicians and more creative. Keith Moon!
  14. There was some beef about the mixing. Wilco wanted a cohesive sounded record and Bragg told Bennett "you make your record, and I'll make mine, fucker." Also, Jeff thought it was kind of cheesy that Bragg wanted to do mostly political songs. I think that was because everyone knows he was political, and Jeff wanted to humanize Guthrie rather than treat him like cartoon character. (Those are my words) And the guys in Wilco pissed off Bragg because they wouldn't record while Simpsons was on. There's more, you should read the book.
  15. Maybe I'm stupid but I don't know what ILMA is. I'm guessing it's not the Independent Lubricant Manufacturers Association or the International League of Martial Artists cause that's all I can find.
  16. I totally agree. I just figured if you're not familiar with them, it's an album where you can go "oh, i've heard that song before."
  17. Hah! Yeah if you're not into noise stay away from SYR3. It is really good noise however and O'Rourke is on it I would definitely start with Experimental Jet Set Trash & No Star, Washing Machine, Sonic Nurse, and Rather Ripped. Those sound the most like "music" in the usual sense I guess.
  18. I have the complete recordings. As recorded residencies like this often go, there are a lot of repeats, but each track is an amazing exploration in modal jazz. If you're a casual fan, probably not necessary, but if you're really into Elvin Jones and Trane this is the ultimate unleashing of their forces with lots of stretching out.
  19. Oh, I invented a sister Populated with knives Uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh Uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh
