  1. I am listening to the dvd version as i type. I love it, but i'm not sure it was worth 200 bucks. Tons of cool stuff though and as a big neil fan i'm glad i have it. The songs do sound awesome. The extra video content is very cool too.
  2. hooray someone knows who they are at least! I posted this on two other message boards i visit only to watch it drop with no response. I missed them live this weekend when they were in atlanta because i had promised a friend i woudl attend his 30th b day party
  3. This is one of my favs on the album. Very catchy it gets stuck in my head and i find myself singing it during the day.
  4. Have any of you all checked this band out? It is not their first album they have been around a while. They are from Chapel Hill and I've been listening to Oh Tall Tree in the Ear for the past week straight. I think it is one hell of an album. It seems not a lot of people are into it. It came out earlier this month and I hope they get some good pub for this one. Fantastic lyrics with catchy melodies. Kind of alt country sounding but light on the country. I would think some wilco fans would dig these guys. anyone else digging this album or is it just me? I did a review on my blog if anyone
  5. <!--quoteo(post=1335671:date=May 25 2009, 05:13 PM:name=anthonyc007)--> QUOTE (anthonyc007 @ May 25 2009, 05:13 PM) <!--quotec-->I have to admit that I am not a PJ fan, but I saw them on this Who tribute show were they just owned the "Reign" and "5:15". Ridiculously good.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEnd--> I am a huge pearl jam fan and i too was impressed at how well they did with that cover.
  6. This is sad. Thankfully we still have the wonderful music he made, but sadly that is small in the scheme of things.
  7. i got tix to the atlatna show! i'm excited because i waited too long earlier this year and the show here sold out, but now i get to see her !
  8. I agree the showbox dvd is pretty awesome.
  9. Does Nels play on this album or is he out of the band now? I kid... sort of. I like the album a lot, but it seems nels jams even less then he did on SBS. The hype over BBN being his coming out party in the studio is way over stated which lead to a major let down for me. I would have loved to hear him go off on a few songs. That said i love the album for what it is another great collection of songs.
  10. I hate my job right now. I so want to be home listening to this. I have not heard it yet, but it is waiting for me at home.
  11. The album cover could be a steaming pile of shit and i could care less as long as the music does not sound like a steaming pile of shit
  12. I've listened to the new album 3 times now. It seems okay. Pretty middle of the road dylan to me. Not awe inspiring, but not bad either. He sounds like a nice little bar band you could find in a dungy blues bar on a tuesday night. Soulful, but it really doesn't seem special to me. After his past two or three albums this is a little bit of a disapointment.
  13. I saw Amon Amarth, Goatwhore, & Skelotonwitch last night and they were all great. Amon Amarth was sick. It was my first time seeing them and they really get the crowd involved. Lots of chanting, horns and fist pumping. If you are a fan check them out if they come near you (although i think thye only have one more date in FL on this tour)
  14. My suggestion would be Rather Ripped & Sonic Nurse to start off. I think they are very acessable and sonic nurse is VERY good. Sonic Nurse is the one that made them click for me. I liked Dirty in the early 90's but never really fully got on board with them. Then i checked out Sonic Nurse and it made sense. i have since gone back and gotten a lot of their albums and enjoyed them
  15. I was able to get a pair of tickets to ed ved's solo show in atlanta. hooray
  16. I really hope they pull out some great tunes for this new album. I thought the last one was not bad, but they seemed to have stalled a bit in my opinion. I am hoping i can get tix to see ed ved solo here in atlanta. He should be ashamed how much he is charging though.
  17. Vol 4 is my fav sabbath album. I just love it. As for Mastodon I already expressed my all out love for the band in their thread. I would add as far as the new album goes the 3:44 mark in the Czar is fucking vile. I love the way the riffs just take off for the next 4 min of that song. I can't help but crank that shit up. You guys digging Mastodon should check out Baroness and High on Fire if you have not already they are awesome metal bands too.
  18. I've been on board with this band for a while now and being from Atlanta I've seen them quite a few times. They are VERY VERY good musicians. The music they write is pretty damn awesome if you ask me. the new album is more accesable, but it is so far from a sell out it is not funny. Who puts two songs on their album clocking in at 11 and 13 minutes if they are trying to garner new fans. I have a lot of friends who are metal heads (guys who actually got me into the band orginally back in the lifesblood and remission days) who have slowly strayed away from liking the band. They don't like t
  19. I don't know about all time. I will have to think about that, but these two will be battleing it out for the title in 2009 I think neko case middle cyclone dinosaur jr- farm
  20. That is pretty cool! I'm very sad to say i missed neko in atlanta last week. I checked for tickets about a month ago and they were sold out. I should have gone downtown and tried to scalp one, but i did not feel like dealing with it. I love the new album though. It keeps getting better.
  21. I don't post on this board often, but I love me some neil young. This album is shitty though. I purchased it this mornign and listened to it twice all the way through and it is not going to grow. some of the music and okay-good, but the lyrics are bad. it sounds like he is not challenged. He is uninspired. He coudl write this stuff in his sleep and it sounds like he did. He feels like he is capturing the moment, but he has captured crap. the backing band is not good either. They play very safe. Neil takes center stage and they just surround him. He needs to find his muse. He needs
  22. I think the only show that i have with them doing that was the Randalls Island 96 show. It is a cool little different take on Jeremy.
  23. I feel teh same way!! Love this part at the end: Pack your earplugs, first-time concertgoers: "normal" means "really fucking loud." I need me some more dino!
  24. I can't tell you how many show's i've gone to by myself. If i did not go to them alone i would never have all the wonderful exepreinces I've had witnessing great music. My friends have aweful taste in music or just are afraid to check out new bands. Plus a lot of bands come during the week and i'm old and my friends don't like going out on a tuesday or whatever, but screw that it is all about the music to me.
