  1. This is pretty difficult but: Pearl Jam Arcade Fire My Morning Jacket Wilco The Mars Volta Those are probably my favorite live bands that i don't miss when they come to town. I'm seeing TV on the Radio this summer for the first time and i'm excited to see them
  2. GREAT Pics man! I was at that show too and it really was one of the best shows i've ever seen. A great sucess.
  3. Damn right the Baroness kicks a LOT of ass. I've seen them 4 times now and if they come near youcheck them out they destroy live. The red album and the split CD are the only two you can really get your hands on now. They have two others "First" and "Second" both are out of print. I have First it is very good. I have yet find Second I saw the best metal show i've ever seen this past weekend at the Scion Rock Fest in Atlanta. Kylesa, Torche, Baroness, Boris, Pig Destroyer, High On Fire, Neurosis, Mastodon, Septic Flesh, Toxic holocaust, Withered, Cyrptopsy and those were just the band
  4. I always go to Tupelo Honey for breakfast on my way out of town when i visit. It is soooo good!
  5. I was at the show in Athens at the Classic Center and at Thomas Wolfe in Asheville the last time they played there and the show in Athens is the worst Wilco show i ever saw and it had nothing to do with the band. The place is like watching a band play in a high school gymnasium. The sound was horrible I think they actually had a beer section that you coudl drink your beer in but could not go into the crowd with it (that is minor the sound is the real problem) I want to see Wilco but i don't know if i can handle the Calssic Center again it was that bad. that picture is not where they played
  6. Neil Young's Electric sound (mostly 70's rust never sleeps etc) J Mascis- Love his tone it was crunchier early on but i really like where he has gone wiht it over the past 5 years too either way it is still J David Gilmour- so good oh so good!
  7. I'm a big fan. Part of the reason i got into wilco was the message board over at their site. Many years ago i kept hearing about wilco in the "other bands" section and checked them out. I had liked uncle tupelo and son volt but never really gave Wilco a shot until then.
  8. Ragged Glory Sleeps with Angels Mirror Ball Harvest Moon Greendale those are my top 5
  9. I've listened to this album about 4 times and although it seems okay i'm just not really getting into it
  10. I could not agree more. First time i heard it i said this is the halloween head track for this album. I dig it.
  11. I was 4th row dead center for Wilco the last time they came to Atlanta at Chastain. That is the closest "seats" i've had obviously not including general admission shows that i have fought my way to the front for. too bad it rained so hard that night i felt like i should leave early to build an ark to get home. great show though Pats family were behind us.
  12. I kind of saw the Cardinals on Friday night. At least for an hour. Then Ryan's voice went out and he walked off teh stage. Very disapointing situation. It was my first experience, it was friday night, i was very excited and to get an hour in and have them have to abort was a bit of a downer. New songs sounded very good live.. well the ones i heard at least.
  13. that is pretty sad. Not something i expected from neil
  14. Sugar Mountain Live at Canterbury House 1968 should be out on November 25th. It is not the archives but it should be a nice CD/DVD combo Disc: 1 (CD) 1. On The Way Home 2. Mr. Soul 3. Expecting To Fly 4. The Last Trip To Tulsa 5. The Loner 6. Birds 7. Winterlong (excerpt) 8. Out Of My Mind 9. If I Could Have Her Tonight 10. Sugar Mountain 11. I've Been Waiting For You 12. Nowadays Clancy Can't Even Sing 13. The Old Laughing Lady 14. Broken Arrow Disc: 2 (DVD) 1. On The Way Home (Live) 2. Mr. Soul (Live) 3. Expecting To Fly (Live) 4. The Last Trip To Tulsa (Live) 5. Th
  15. I one day went to the library too and wanted to try out this "jazz" music and picked up kind of blue ... thought it was incrediable and was disapointed to find out all jazz was not like this.. I have since found some wonderful jazz, but this stands as not only my fav jazz album but one of my top 3 fav albums of all times.
  16. This is a very very good album. I just got it yesterday and have only listened to it about 2.5 times but I am hooked and can't see myself listening to anything else for a while!
  17. I'm so jealous. They are not coming near me and i would love to see this tour.
  18. I saw them two nights ago in Atlanta. My third time seeing the band. They were on fire. It was the best of the three shows They played for 2hours and 45 minutes. I won't mention the set list in case you don't want to know. I know they change it up a bit but i think it has been similar. I wish i could see them again tonight they were so good
  19. This is very cool. Unfortunately they are not coming anywhere remotely close to me as all bands ignore the southern US now it seems. That said i know Jeff and Nels are Neil fans so they must be pumped for this. Not sure how the others in the band feel about him.
  20. I have lawn "seats" for Atlanta. I love National and MM and i like REM and have never seen them so i thought it the three of them would make it worth going to see.
  21. Damn you Neil. Damn you. I've waited all this time and now i don't have anything that plays blu ray. I just want to hear it i don't care if it is only "cd" quality
  22. another really great metal band is Nile. I love that egyption death metal that they make. I noticed no real love in this thread for the more extreme metal bands doing black or death metal. That is too bad some of those bands are extremly talented.
  23. I almost listed Amon Amarth and made my list a top 5. I do like those guys a lot. except when they do the cheesy in unison headbanging that is just kind of funny looking
