  1. I received the tracking info for my Kung Fu order today. Says it was shipped yesterday, but nothing more than that so far. I hope it arrives by the weekend!
  2. I was about to say the same thing. I added their album to my wishlist.
  3. I go through phases where I listen to Wilco frequently. However, on average I'd say they rank just slightly above any other random band I enjoy. I have no idea what the percentage would be. There's too much music out there - I can't spend all my time listening to one band.
  4. I haven't received the email. I was really looking forward to getting this after a rough week at work. I chose to pay for shipping in order to guarantee that I receive it asap. I knew that was probably a mistake. Count me among those who do not care about the sticker.
  5. Has anyone received an update from the Kung Fu store as to delivery status? I've check my account, and it shows the status as "imported." I thought they were supposed to ship yesterday . . .
  6. I'm really anxious for the box set to arrive. I'm wondering what the final product is going to look like. This is the perfect thing to look forward to after seeing them live over the weekend!
  7. Thanks for sharing with all of us!
  8. I'm still trying to put my thoughts together after last night. I'll just say it was incredible. Did not disappoint. I don't think I could have had more fun.
  9. I was at the last Pittsburgh show. The venue left a lot to be desired but I had a great time. Thanks for calling us foolishly blind lame-o's. Nice way to introduce yourself to the forum.
  10. I think the requests for tonight are perfect. And that is despite the fact that the song I requested is not on there. I'm going to take last night's incredible setlist as a sign of good things to come. No reason to critique a show that hasn't even happened yet. I cannot wait.
  11. I lost my connection once last night. I've lost it three times so far this evening . . .
  12. I just had one of those experiences yesterday. I've been having kind of a tough time this year. Nothing major, just a case of the blues I guess. The one thing I've had going for me lately is the knowledge that I'm seeing Wilco next weekend. With that in mind I've been doing a run through of the catalog the last couple days. Somewhere during Being There (can't even remember which song) it just hit me how important Wilco is to me, and how import music in general has been in my life. I've been a fan just under five years, but Wilco's music has already been there for me through a couple diff
  13. This is how I became a fan, and I know I'm not the only one. I bought the CD a week or two after it was released. I'd been trying to pick a Wilco album to start with and was overwhelmed by all my options. I think I had done too much research. I don't normally start with a live album, but in this case it seemed like the right choice. Coming from the point of view of someone who had never heard a single Wilco album previously, Kicking Television sounded huge, dynamic and exciting to me. I was blown away on first listen. I bought Summerteeth a couple weeks later and was totally confused
  14. The price is up pretty high, but I think I have to do it. Kicking Television was my first Wilco purchase and I'm very sentimental about it for that reason. For instance, when "Misunderstood" plays in my head I hear the Kicking Television version, not the studio track. Not to mention that I just recently updated my stereo system and I'm betting this will sound really nice.
  15. Seriously. I think my heart skipped a beat when I saw the first part of this thread title.
  16. I scrolled past this post a couple times before watching the clip. I've known that song all of my life and NEVER would have guessed that was Alex Chilton. Wow! I'm only just a Big Star novice, but I've been listening to them a little more since reading about his death last night. Such a shame.
  17. Amazing is definitely the right word. I have mixed feelings about the Ten Club. I've been a member since 1998, so my member number is pretty much in the middle and I've been satisfied with my tickets. Honestly, if you were to join now your tickets might land you on the back of the floor where you can't see a thing. Then again, you could wing the lottery or get decent seats in the wings - it's a gamble. The other benefits of the club leave much to be desired. The newsletters look cool but frankly aren't all that exciting, and we now get one per year rather than two. The "holiday" singl
  18. That's understandable. I don't think I've listened to Backspacer since October, it was such a disappointment. I feel like I should go back and give it another try so I'll at least be familiar with the songs.
  19. I just looked up my history at the Ten Club, and apparently I spent $80.50 in 2003 (for a pair), and $117.40 in 2006. Can't remember what I paid in 2000 when I saw them for the first time. I feel somewhat guilty paying so much when many of the other bands I love play for half that price or less. At the same time, Pearl Jam was my favorite band for so many years. They meant more to me than anything else when I was in high school. I have to go for sentimental reasons alone. And I'm sure they'll put on a great show!
  20. I got tickets to the Cleveland show very easily from the Ten Club presale today - $150 for the pair. I've been happy with my seat the previous 3 times I've seen the band. I hope I do at least as well this time, since I have to go out of state this time around.
  21. I agree. Remove "Looking for Astronauts" and Alligator might be able to compete with Boxer.
  22. I last saw them in 2006, so I can't say from experience. But I think I read that tickets are can get in the $160 range for a pair. Don't quote me on that though - I can't remember my source. I'll be paying for both my ticket and my companion's, so that sounds pretty expensive to me . . .
  23. That sounds so good. I can't wait until May comes around.
  24. Count me among those who consider Band of Horses to be a big plus for this tour. I've been wanting to see them for a while now. That said, it looks like I'll be trying for Cleveland during the Ten Club sale. I'm annoyed that they appear to be skipping Pittsburgh again and I'm sure tickets are going to cost much more than I want to pay. But I guess the guys are getting older, so might as well give in and travel a little bit while the opportunity is there. If they add a Pittsburgh show later on I know someone who will probably be willing to pay for the tickets, so that's a plus.
  25. Anybody get their Pittsburgh tickets? I just barely managed to get a pair during the presale, and I'm totally paranoid that Front Gate is going to come back to me and say "sorry, no tickets for you."
