  1. Hmmm...two sixties bands, both from LA. I like 'em both, this is too hard so I'll go with the Mothers.
  2. I can always count on you. I sound like an old fuddy duddy here, but I still like to trade via snail mail. Live shows anyway - I rarely listen to studio stuff anymore (except jazz). I've made more good friends over the last 25 years that way than I can count. My youngest is a d/l freak though. Mostly bands no one has ever heard of.
  3. $3.45 here in the Heart of Hoosierland. Highest prices since that little spike directly following Katrina. Talking with a friend of mine (who drives 35-40 miles each way to his job) I asked him how much it takes to drive his Ram to work each week. "Eighty dollars or so". Which is close to the same price as a mortgage on an average home here. Jeebus. I'm so glad I live a mile and a half from my job.
  4. So- the Cincinnati bonus disc has a couple of never heard (at least by me) gems on it. The Eyes nearly runs off of the road but segues in to a monster Phil-led Space. Directly related to the the brain-fry section from the previous show (12/2, Boston) this is some creepy stuff for sure. Acid, anyone?
  5. I don't care who you are, that's funny shit right there.
  6. Have a great day Owl! For some reason I thought you were much older.
  7. I have a really good friend who could be MJ's twin brother. Just wanted to throw that out there. He's a totally cool and crazy guy btw.
  8. I don't know if I could be more proud of our guy there. Well done Poon-ay-ho.
  9. Great news! The Winterland box arrived today. I'll report back after I check it out. I'll probably listen to the Cinci bonus disc first.
  10. New Riders of the Purple Sage - Fillmore East NYC. 9/20/70
  11. SOOIE!!! Have a great day! This is a good place for you to start if you don't have anything: http://db.etree.org/lookup_show.php?shows_key=1081 Looks like some upgrades here. Highly recommended.
  12. Awesome. I saw JB here in '90, all acoustic. It was wonderful.
  13. Nice 40th birthday present for Uncle Wilco. Well done Jayhawks.
  14. Happy Birthday UW! Have a great day man. Hey - we miss your insight on this crazy campaign. Get back here soon.
  15. Have a fantastic day! In your honor I will post a vid of the saddest day of my childhood. I'm pretty sure my Dad never recovered. This should make you feel nostalgic for sunny California: I watched this - again. I'll never get those minutes back.
  16. I totally support this statement. That would be right at the top of my list.
  17. Nels Cline Singers in Indy! Return to Forever reunion tour at the Murat! Hooking up with my good friends Ray & Juliette from OH! Kicking Dubya's ass out of the White House and starting a new era - President Obama!
  18. Good Lord, maybe it's a good thing I wasn't there (" So you're MB, eh?").
  19. "Blew your mind on too much Kool-Aid - yeah, yeah, yeah!" OK- I'll stop hijacking the thread. Lou, do you have the poster that came with the original Absolutely Free? I would imagine that would fetch something these days in mint condition.
  20. I try not to listen to NY constantly. The GD is the only rock music I can listen to all day, every day and not get burned out on it. But Neil can certainly reach down and give you a good shakin' when need be.
