I did not know that. Hey Kyle, is he your Rep.? I do like the guy, seriously.
-
I remember watching the Dolphins from the '72-'74 period and they were one hell of an awesome football team - top to bottom. That is all.

The V-Day ritual here is to listen to 2/14/70. We're incurable romantics.

The Giants can do this thing. They just have to play a near-perfect game. Hey, let's not forget, they gave NE all they wanted for 3+ quarters just a few weeks ago. It can be done. You gotta have faith.

Nice job Eric. Here's a just my .02: MN Rep. Kieth Ellison is a Muslim, and he did place his hand on the Koran when being sworn in. He's also a great guy....I wish he was my congressman, not the nutcase I do have.

Who has seen Uncle Tupelo in concert?

"Farrar's achy-breaky drawl". I know everyone's entitled to their opinion, but jeesh.. That voice drills me to the floor like few others do. -
What Aman said...for the most part, these guys seem real approachable. Definitely not a "rock star" kind of thing. I was with my whole family last year and we met all of them. It was easy as pie.

Rockin' the Rhein (4/24/72) is an official release and a very worthy one if you have not heard it. Full show with a few bonus tracks. I concur with DS about the Road Trips - good stuff, it just doesn't "flow" like a full show.

Does the fact that I listened to a lot of metal/hard rock 30+ years ago and eventually I got around to liking Wilco have any meaning here (regarding the topic)? I hope it doesn't take your friends that long!

LNGCA rocks pretty damn hard - and it even has a drum solo!

I've mentioned this to a few folks here...UT played within an hour or so from me dozens of times but I never went to see them. I was too caught up in planning to follow another band (which I'm sure you all know who) all over hell's half-acre. Everytime I think about this I want to punch myself in the face. -
Oh man. Don't be speaking about yourself in the third-person like that, it reminds me of Edgerrin Effin' James (notice how I didn't use the F-bomb there?) "The Edge gonna do what The Edge gotta do". Man, I used to hate that shit. I mean stuff.

As you know BG I'm a big fan of live records. You cannot go wrong with One For The Road - it begs to be cranked loud!
-
Take good care of my buddy Lee Ving, will you? Thanks in advance.

Bjornicus, I am happy for you man. I will be rooting for teh Giants in 2 weeks.

It appears that the momentum has went back to HRC for the time being. I was reading some news from NV and I didn't dig some of Barack's latest statements (rippin' on Bill, praise for Ray-Gun, etc.). I hope he stays focused - he's dealing with pros that have been doing this forever. On the other side - I think it would be awesome if the Reps had a brokered convention. I might be wrong but hasn't it been 56 years since that happened? I know I've never seen one.
-
Eric, this is off-topic here, but how far are you from Alpine Valley? Some of the best times of my life have been there.
-
When you consider all the horrifying things that have went down since Nov. '04 you have to just hope that we can get through this. I hope it goes quickly.

Tonight will be "shades of '67"...the Ice Bowl. Too bad it isn't Dallas playing up there - we could watch replays of Starr's QB sneak 100 times today!
-
Aman - do you have that "Unreleased '66" CD that was an official release a few years back? I forget the name...

God Mart, those are cool as hell. Thanks for putting these up man. -
I read on another board that last week Lou did a show (for about 100 people!) with Laurie Anderson and John Zorn. That would have been something to see.

I remember Melvin for the many times he played a bad guy on Andy Griffith. Some of his scenes with Don Knotts were really great.

I'm not overly familiar with Cale's records (I only have two). But Lou Reed - he's just one of my favorites ever. "Rock and Roll Animal" never left my turntable for a long time. And as I have said numerous times on here "New York" is simply one of my favorite records of all time.
