  1. I just wanted to second this. If my children learn anything at all from me I hope so much that they take this with them when they get out there in the world. It's never been more important. Bless you Kate for posting this.
  2. Is the plural form of Rivas actually Rivi? C66?
  3. I'd like to give thanks for: 3 healthy, almost-all-grown-up children My crazy than hell basset pup Delia My tolerant and lovely wife The two best parents in the world Cold IPAs Music (of course- duh) All my friends- old and new
  4. Hence, the continuing popularity of religion. I tend to agree that there's no way that the incompetent fucks W has surrounded himself with could have pulled this off. Man I also hope this thread doesn't go off the rails.
  5. Yeah, I felt the bat-signal calling me there. In other news, my wife and I stopped at a liquor store in nearby Anderson the other night and we could not believe that they still had Oberon in the cooler. It's been a couple of months since they quit making that one (for this year).
  6. Yay for our friends in Illinois! I hope this all works out for the best. Bell's make some of my very favorite beers. It's almost time for Hop Slam to makes its appearance again!
  7. A free online yoga session, courtesy of Mrs. Fetaljessenflickerhosen!
  8. One can hope so. I really liked those records, especially "As Good.."
  9. I have to admit, last night was one impressive display. I know Madden is getting rather senile but I'm inclined to agree with him that Brady is playing the position as well as anyone who has ever suited up.
  10. Not even in the top 5000. I assumed "Uncle Chuck" had progeny from coast to coast.
  11. Best: having my whole family of 5 together to see and meet the band in Indy. The audience participation on "Shake It Off" will always be remembered. Missed: still not having heard a "Remember the Mountain Bed" live. One of these days...
  12. You hit it on the head for me there. Kucinich has nothing to lose so there's no need to play it safe. In the foriegn policy area I think both Biden and Richardson have the experience that is necessary, but they are second-tier candidates at this point. Sadly. This is where we get to the point of debating the two party system. Nearly all of the candidates (at least on the D side) are a worthy alternative to the current regime. It's kind of a shame that after February the thing could be set in stone. In regards to Obama - I will vote for him if he gets the nod to run for the Dems, but he has
  13. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Wave_Theatre Anyone remember this show? I taped a few hours of this show off of the Night Flight program back in the early '80's. I recently looked at this again and wow...what an amazing freak show! There's quite a bit of interesting vids from the show on youtube, if anyone cares to check it out. The host, Peter Ivers, was a very strange dude and some of the mock commercials (for "Genkel's") were out-of-this-world. The show introduced me to some really great bands I'd never heard of: 45 Grave, The Plugz, and a number of semi-obscure L.A. hardcore and New W
  14. Is Mike Vanderjagt busy? Someone please shoot Bill Polian an email with Vander's phone #.
  15. Thanks for posting this! A very nice read - I thought Glenn's passion and sense of humor came across very well ( as it does in his playing). How beneficial is it to Wilco to have all the guys in the band be involved with music (outside the band itself) that constantly challenges them to get out of any ruts they might unconciously slip into? We are really lucky at this time in Wilcology to have this particular group of individuals in the band.
  16. Phish - 8/14/93 Tinley Park, IL SBD Aug. '93 - one of the best months in Phishtory.
  17. Playin' is my favorite Bobby tune. Nearly any version from '72-'74 is an exploration into the unknown. That 5/21 version is amazing - even though the length is impressive by itself, what happens there is just, wow. Only 10 minutes in Jerry takes off and goes nuts. The Tiger steps in early on, too.
  18. What about "Let 'Em In"? The verse anyway.
  19. My very favorite thing from all of '77 : the re-entry into the Playin' Reprise from 5/19/77. I think it's one of my favorite things they've ever done. I think it's DP 29 - check it out again and tell me you don't agree.
