  1. Made In Japan! Oh man I'll definitely shell out the cash for that.
  2. Hey, you know our slogan: "There's more than meth (errr.. ummm I mean 'corn') in Indiana!"
  3. Definitely Foo Fighters. Green Day Billy Joel Beach Boys Bee Gees ANY 80s hair farmer bands. And Patti Smith. Can't stand her music.
  4. I agree '73 is my favorite too. That sequence is THE SHIT. Boston '77!
  5. "All 175 members of the Grateful Dead". Paul, dude...it's like 10, 11 if you count Bruce. And 4 of the 6 keyboard players died. Fucking hippie-hater.
  6. I always liked "Wipe the Windows". It's not THAT bad. Hell, there's a side-long "Elizabeth Reed" that is a Leavell showcase on there.
  7. I'm inclined to think the road goes on forever with these guys, until Gregg can't play or passes on. At least I HOPE that's the scenario cause I'm not ready for it to be over.
  8. I wonder how they come across the number for release. If I recall correctly the Europe '72 box was like 7500, Spring '90 was 9000. The Dave's have hovered around 12-15K or so. One would think 50K wouldn't be out of line, maybe it would I dunno. But if it's going to be truly 'limited edition' they should put the SDSs back on archive to at least listen to once it's sold out. That's something I don't understand.
  9. 12/12/69 has a really soulful He Was a Friend of Mine, and the Alligator > Caution is FIERCE.
  10. 6/28/92 is the best post Bruce show I ever saw. Check it out - the first set is just fantastic.
  11. That's one helluva assumption, pal. "Some form of unknown dignity". How would you know about that?
  12. Man, that's a really really good post. I wish I would have written it!
  13. Wow, and I thought I was picky! I've never heard of anyone who disses Fall '72 or Fall '74. To each his own, I guess.
  14. Well hell if we're gonna throw jazz in here I HAVE to mention Bud Powell and Cecil Taylor, because no one else will ('cept maybe Lou).
  15. He might just not want to have to answer questions about Dickey coming back.
  16. That's the great thing about the picks. I don't recall hearing this one either. I'm very familiar with the Pacific Northwest part of the tour later in the week but this one is under the radar for me.
  17. Yeah. Something like 19 shows left. This saddens me. I guess I should be grateful for all the good times I've had. I just wanted MORE, ya know?
  18. And you would be absolutely correct, imo. Not Dylan's best period. I read a bio recently, "Down The Highway", where it said at some point Bob phoned the San Rafael office, wanting to become a full-time member of the band. Which was nixed (according to Weir) by Phil. Thank you, Phil. LOL
  19. Exactly. He tried to spin it as being a victim of circumstance but I'm not buying it. Scooter Herring did 18 months in prison, the doctor got 10 years. Gregg got nothin'. It's not a pretty story.
  20. Indeed. I think the best ABB show I ever saw (out of the dozen or so I've been to) was the August '90 show. In other news, I got Gregg's autobiography for Xmas and blew through that thing in a day. MAN, he wasn't too charitable about The Dead, that's for sure!
  21. I know what you're talking about. I think it is an unfortunate bi-product of those in-ear monitors they started using around that time. Everyone is listening more to themselves than everyone else and it doesn't quite gel much of the time. That said, the 5/26 Playin' that Shug mentioned, and the 6/23 Jam out of Terrapin are imo the best things from the whole year, and arguably the last times IT appeared onstage.
  22. Absolutely. Anthrax should be in there. Maybe their old buddy Chuck D can lean on the powers that be.
