Ummm, no....I was a 23 year old burn out with hair halfway down my back, spending all my time trying to figure out how many shows I could hit on Dead Tour. Sigh... -

I have a show from the 9:30 Club where the FFB did this. Awesome. They also cover Crimson's "Thela Hun Ginjeet". Well.

What shows did you have a chance to go to but didn't?

To be honest, you didn't miss much. It's a pretty common sentiment that the '94 tour was possibly the worst the Dead ever played. Sorry about your friend, though. -
Gov't Mule re-doing Humble Pie's "Smokin' ". Rock on, dudes.

Any number of Grateful Dead shows. I used to look at the tour schedule, and decide what I was gonna be able to afford, get off work for, etc. I might do 7 shows out of a 10 show run, and inevitably the ones I'd miss were the "DUDE THEY BUSTED OUT (fill in amazing song X here) AND THEY KILLED THE WHOLE DAMN NIGHT!". Moral of the story? You have to do ALL the shows - I mean, wtf, it's only a job! -
Nice choice, Moss. Definitely an 'insider' avatar.

When all that shit with Dodd went down the other day I was pretty disappointed, as I'm sure you wre as well. Not shocked, but still....

SRV would be awesome, I don't recall ever seeing him used as an avatar round these parts. Or Jerry, of course.

My consent has been manufactured to wish you the happiest of birthdays! Have a great day, Joe!

Nice! Did you know the lead singer gave up his career as a musician to pursue a career in Aussie politics? I guess he's the Minister of Environmental Affairs or some such now.

Jackson Browne's "Before The Deluge" always gets me, and seems more appropriate now than ever.

I, for one, am psyched! When I think of great bands that VC has introduced me to Califone is at the top of the list. I LOVE this band.

The thing about The Who that I always found so appealing (besides the master songcraft) when I was a kid was their unshakable conviction in the power of Rock as a force for positive change and the ability to heal (especially emotional scars). Maybe that is all Pete - I think Rog and John were more motivated by success, and Keef was just in it for fun (as he was in every aspect of life). But Pete - man that dude was an interviewers wet dream...not unlike Garcia, he could pontificate at length on such a wide variety of esoteric subjects. The man was, and is, SERIOUSLY deep. I know you guys k

Mama ain't too bad - Phil is DEFINITELY channeling Peter's vibe on that one. Just imagine how good it would have been with Peter handling it!
