  1. Maybe it's code for dirt. Common. Street. Dirt. If this is the case, this story takes on a whole 'nother level of credibility.
  2. Assuming (and it's a huuuuuge stretch) that there is such a thing as "street candy," who the hell would know if it came from the street or straight from Wonka's factory (wherever the hell he's based...never been able to find that, either)?
  3. I'm with everyone else on the candy thing. I spent a good part of my childhood thinking about finding and often seeking candy found on the street. Granted, I didn't grow up in Hungary, but still. I smell a fabrication. Nobody finds enough (any?!) street candy to live even in a cave. Have fun with your "billions," too, you crazy kids.
  4. Been listening to the show the last 2 days. Overall, a valiant effort. I agree "Sweet Black Angel" is done really well because you can understand the lyrics clearly. One of the highlights, actually, of the set. "shake Your Hips" has a real nice vibe to it, too. The only real extended jamming, that I picked up on, comes in "torn and Frayed" (done very nicely) and an extended "Happy" (done like the Stones typically do live). One disappointment I felt was the "Tumbling Dice." Trey's voice doesn't work on this tune at all. but again, a spirited challenge for them to tackle this double Lp wedged be

  7. And Locust Street and Movin On Down The Line and Daughters of the Revolution. Been listening to Warpaint a lot lately. Overall, an excellent album.
  8. Best wishes on your lives together, b2.Hope she likes baseball....
  9. Hopkins was notoriously boozing a lot back then. The New Years JGB w/ Hopkins is a classic example. I think it's that one where Hopkins starts to intriduce the band and JG cuts him off and tells the crowd that actually, we're gonna take a break for a bit...Musically, I don't get the sense that Hopkins is over-dominant on any of the stuff I've heard but toi each his own ear, and all. I think I've got all/most of the Pure Jerry stuff and I don't think there's a selection I don't appreciate.

  11. This is partly why I think they are underrated. They've come a long way as musicians since their onset but there's still that immaturity/frat boy aura about them that they created. I guess it's hard to shake but yeah, they are an excellent band with a lot of versatility. It didn't surprise me that the majority of the crowd (in my experience) had no idea who the Meat Puppets (opened that night) were, though.
  12. First order of business would be to rip out their vocal chords, I assume.
  13. You know, I saw them open up for Ween at Red Rocks a couple months ago and I was a little nervous as to how they'd sound there. The reaction from the crowd was mixed as many were panning them before they'd even heard them (or had heard OF them, even). They got a nice reaction from the crowd and they were real tight. I couldn't help but think that'd I'd probably had never given a band like Ween a shot had it not been for The Pups and Up On the Sun.
  14. Meat Puppets. Up On The Sun changed my outlook on music; opened doors to other forms of music.
  15. You mean 5 years ago, right? Because current and future Scarlet....
  16. I was thinking about Exile because I love most tunes on it but decided against it because I consider a few songs on there throw-wayws and I couldn't live with using it as one of the five albums with throw-aways on it.
