  1. I like clicking on a bunch at the same time.
  2. Hey, did the Wylde Ratttz ever put an album out? I'd never even heard of this formation let alone any sounds they made. Anyone in the know recommend anything...?
  3. Nice. I've come close twice at Fenway and three times at Coors Field but- nothin'! It's a hard feat to accomplish. I did catch one at a Little League game about 5 years ago, though. Me and my then 4 year old and about 6 other people. Right behind the back stop. It was amazing....
  4. Milton Bradley to Cubs: 3 yrs at $30 MM, ed. Oops.
  5. True, though. I've said it before but I've seen him do solo acoustic (with Matt Abts), followed by the gig proper with P & F. And, he played in the parking lot for about 40 min. before the solo/duet stuff.
  6. Warren has opened for himself at times, too. And played outside the venues before that, as well.
  7. Approx. at this point (100 pp. in) is where I've jumped ship on this book 3-4 times. Good luck. I hear it picks up. The book could really use a User's Guide to the footnotes....
  8. "Muscrat Love" always made me pretty angry.
  9. I'm about the same, these days. Maybe just a bit higher. How people find the time to read 20, 25+ books/year stuns me. My ability (read: time) to knock books out has diminished greatly the past year. When I read in bed before sleep - my favorite time/place to do so- I am often asleep within 2-5 pages.
  10. These are two of mine, also. I've had a few folks telling me lately I should learn guitar and I think I will. Also, been starting to do Core Power yoga (the heated room deal) and want to get into it more.
  11. Finally on the last 50 pages or so of that second Leif Enger book, So Brave, Young, and Handsome. Next up: The Legal Limit, Martin Clark and The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, Sogyal Rinpoche
  12. The Del McCoury Band ranks. I suppose a picture would have helped, though....
  13. My main resolution is to move on and move on happily.
  14. Fall '88: Roanoke, VA-> St. Petersburg, FLA.-> New Orleans-> Houston, TX.-> Dallas, TX-> back to Roanoke, VA. All for GD shows but the travel mates were the best part: Two great friends (one now passed away) and a chick I ended up dating for 5+ years as a result of the trip. Great memories. Lots of laughter. Great music both at the shows and on the road. And got to chat over a few drinks with Brent Mydland after the NO show. I also have fond memories of my trip from NY to Boulder, CO in 1995. It was just me but it was a life-altering and great trip.
  15. I won't bitch about it being at the Pepsi Center, though, even if I'd like to..... WSP just finished up there and I may have gone except that....it's the Pepsi Center! I don't think that's the complete itinerary yet either, bro. So I'm sure you'll catch shit close to you....
  16. That, along with "Moon Dance" by Van M., should be banned. It's not so much the cliche Pop but the absolute overplaying-ness of it that drives me absolutely batty. It's similar to my distaste for Bob Marley and The Doors due to the same reason. Sorry. On it's own- not a bad tune. But with it's history it gets heavy demerits. Imo.
  17. It's on Cox, too. It's on Ch. 420 out here but just pop around and you should find it (look in the area that your EI was on). It's "free" with whatever package you have.... They're hitting 50 million homes when they go live at 6 p.m. tomorrow.
  18. I'm not sure but I'll assume that FOX will have the Saturday rights (blackouts) still. The new channel will air 26 games this year. They will also show old games in their entirety. Like the Bobby Thomson '51 "Shot Heard 'Round the World" pennant-winning hit game (supposedly hasn't been shown in it's entirety since - or shortly after- it happened). Really looking forward to this network. ed. Oh, and they've got Hazel Mae. eh.
  19. Mike Shanahan was fired as Head Coach of the Broncos a little while ago. ed. Oops. Looks like that was yesterday's news. Haven't watched t.v. or read a paper today!
  20. Ha! I'll most likely go as my name got added to the guest list in a push to get me out tonight. The thing is, it's at my friends bar and the show ends at around 2. Then he has another band, (Eric McFadden, I think), playing from 2-6 a.m. at another of his joints. Then, at 7 a.m., he's got Vince Herman and Great American Taxi playing at yet another venue, with bloodys and breakfast served. The crew I'm hanging with tonight wants to do all three and there's no way I will make it (upright, at least).... Though it sounds as if you might be able to make it if you were here....
  21. No, EI will still be around. It's a 24 hr./365 day baseball network. Apparently, they will cover some games in total and have cameras in every park for every game for up-to-date (minute) highlights, in-depth analysis, interviews, etc. Looks quite excellent, and I'm with bjorn that I hope it doesn't take the "hip/humor" tack....
  22. Either JGB w/Steve Kimock or stay in and read.
  23. Been watching the MLB Network preview stuff the past hour. Ch. 420 on Comcast in Denver.... Looks like it's going to be very nice.
  24. The MLB Network kicks off tomorrow, supposedly "free" in a lot of cable/digital packages. I believe it's ben previewing for a few weeks already in some areas but have yet to see it.
