  1. I've read articles where it's been disputed that he wrote "Hickory Wind," probably his most popular tune.
  2. Makes sense as he's tight with him and signed to his label, Brushfire, earlier in his career. I don't think I've ever listened to Jack Johnson, though, so I didn't have anything to compare DF to.
  3. "Hold on" by making the play offs or being first in the AL East?
  4. I guess Barry Zito driving in his first run as a major leaguer last night will be forever buried in this whole thing.
  5. It looked like he left his kid hangin' while he was pointing up to the sky. Just being snarky. It was a nice, brief speech, too.
  6. It was classy how he ignored his son at the plate after hitting the tainted milestone homer, too.
  7. I'm willing to bet history will be kinder to Aaron than Bonds in this matter. In the eyes of many Bond's does not deserve the accolade.
  8. "Religion and government will both exist in greater purity, the less they are mixed together." -James Madison

  10. His most recent album, Move By Yourself, is worth checking out, too. He's a professional surfer as well.
  11. I'm with you here. Although Medeski and Martin have done some nice stuff with John Scofield that I like quite a bit. I like Sonny Sharrock and Rahsaan Roland Kirk quite a bit. I tend towards the more modern jazz of Pat Metheny and Chick Corea, too.
  12. Corey busts some moves: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEe5utva4j4
  13. I'm betting a VH tour w/ DLR will sell out quicker than the Police thing. I won't be in attendance but the buzz'll be huge.
  14. I always get a kick out of the one where Phil is forced to make the fire aisle/smoking in the theater announcement from management/fire marshall and puts a blatant exaggerated twist to it with a wink-wink tone. Good stuff, that. Apologies for the highjack, dondoboy. Today I'd be "What's the World Got In Store."
  15. I think Anthony has another band, too. I thought I'd read he had something going musically with Chad Smith from RHCP or something. Though I'm sure he'd like to cash in on the upcoming* VH tour. * disclaimer: this tour will probably fall through because of either Eddie's personal problems or something DLR will spew to the media. Or an entertaining version of both.
  16. But that was a little over a month ago. People have aged since then, man.
  17. I disagree. I think you can do acid once and have a horrible experience that can mess you up a bit for good, and conversely do it many, many times and come out fine through the other end. It has so much to do with mental/physical make-up (this isn't to say weak-minded people freak out moreso on the stuff, either). Although Leary said one time, iirc, and this is a paraphrase: people with Volswaagon-engine minds shouldn't play with Cadillac-engine drugs. ed. Bjorn, I realize you wrote "run a serious risk" and I'd agree that the more you do the deeper you tend to swim into bad/scary/dangerou
