  1. Pffft. My schedule last year had me teaching for 4 hrs and 5 min. straight each day (and that's just the morning/1st set!) from 7:45-11:50 a.m.. Take THAT, "The Boss"!!
  2. Best explained here, imo: http://blog.phish.net/1311714510/revisiting-jamming-types But the simplified version is here: http://www.ohkeepahblog.com/2011/07/phish-jamming-types-101.html Basically, Type I= standard jam , Type II delves outside a standard jam....
  3. Yeah, lyrics came up in the Jam after drums, Light, First Tube, and Walls of the Cave.
  4. I watched a video, specifically and only, of the First Tube last night. Even better than the Lockin one last week.,.....
  5. And the 2nd set was even better! I watched the stream on Friday with friends over and went to Sat and Sunday shows. Didn't get tix on Sunday but sat outside the main (open) door area at a table with friends to listen. Great sound, believe it or not, outside the venue, too. Lot beer was cheaper, as well, than stadium beer.,
  6. It's clear weather here for the Phish Dick's....
  7. My favorite part was always the random can of soda Mick scoops up off the street
  8. Right. There was like a make-out/weed room downstairs, too, across the hall from the bathrooms. And it was always pretty packed and hot anywhere in there.
  9. Yeah, I saw a few shows there: Phish , Blues Traveler, Moe, Merl Saunders band, a few others. Pretty sure Shapiro was running it back then.
  10. Oh, I bet Mr. Blount would. A buddy gave Jon Fishman a ride from NY (after a Wetlands show) back to NH area in late 80s and reported that he talked about Sun Ra most of the ride. I bet Sun Ra would dig the band from Vermont, he being a part of and hip to eclectic an innovative music....
  11. "An Evening with Bob Weir" -How many ladies can attest to this one.....?
  12. Nope, it actually ended. There were lyrics involved, too. The song is called "Runaway Jim". There were many components of Jazz involved, too, which is a style of music that involves a lot of free-form (or "noodling"), as well.
  13. Just short of an hour on one tune.....
  14. Nice! And the Fenway show(s), I'd imagine....
  15. Big Cypress '99. Tinnitus was there.
  16. I did catch a little of it, as well as some late night JRAD (I'm MDT, so had a nice 2-hr buffer/reprieve from the east coast late late shows)....
  17. I watched a lot of it all weekend: Ween sets, Phish shows, UM, MMJ, TTB, P&F, CRB, etc. Besides Ween and Phish being on fire, I had never seen/listened to Tedeschi/Trucks and WHOA was I impressed. Also, very impressed with MMJ (who I barely know), and Gary Clark, Jr.
  18. I caught Hornsby's first GD appearance at Buckeye Lake in '88. He played a couple tunes on accordion (Sugaree and Stuck Inside of Mobile)....
  19. Definitely Phil. Cool, eerie tune. I like the background harmonies, too....
  20. New material/album/mini-tour for Bobby: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/bob-weir-details-new-solo-album-blue-mountain-tour-w432679
  21. It was, in my recollection, just Jeff Sipe getting off. Really nicely, too. A couple guys from Greensky Bluegrass joined in during the third set, too.... The show was being officially filmed (fliers up and signs inside saying you agree to have your image shared, or whatever) so maybe headed for a release on Warren's label or something.
