  1. How about Rabid, which starred some 70s porn actress and these women killed people with teeth that came out of their axilla....
  2. Shit I forgot about So Many Roads. What a great song. That thing became a beast by '95, especially the tail end of the song. Wow. "Stella Blue" showed some HUGE power in '95, too (which I think were probably some of my favorite versions of the tune, oddly enough).
  3. Great tune and great lyrics, but I have to back up SOTM as my favorite of the last batch, with "Liberty" as a close second. They (Hunter/Garcia), really still had "it" up until the end.....
  4. Yessir. I remember feeling a little bummed for Karan as he was out ill battling cancer, and I think he's a solid lead guy, but Kimmock really shines in the sideman role.....
  5. Warren sang last night. I loved Kimock in Ratdog. Better then Kimock in Kimock-lead bands. There's a FANTASTIC "Money for Gasoline" from Red Rocks a few years ago that really stands out. The whole show is solid, particular the aforementioned, the Sugar Magnolia, and the encore Terp. suite ... Very smoooooth and sweeeet 1/2-Step, too. https://archive.org/details/ratdog2007-07-24.dpa-4channelmix.flac16 ed. Oh yeah, a smokin' 17 min. Shakedown opener. Keller Williams opened and I remember not really digging his stuff (he sits in on a couple tunes, too). My wife loves him but I've never bee
  6. I listened to (most of) the P&F feed last night. The Q, proving again, why they're the best P&Fs compilation. The St. Stephen>Midnite Hour was the corker, too. The Days encore was nice, and I'll likely get shot for this, but I was never a big "Days" fan. I know, I know probably Garcia's most poignant (lyrically, at least) tune in the back 9 of his career, but it just drags the fuck on for me....
  7. Just came across this and it pretty much made my mid-day. If Morgan Freeman was the voice of your GPS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nb7RVM63uP4
  8. Yeah, I don't know or have never listened to a bunch of the bands on there but interested in their take on the tunes. Definitely some wild choices (2 different Dark Stars, a What's Become of the Baby, Cream Puff War, King Solomon's, etc.). Betting that Mumford & Sons "Friend" is the straightest thing on it....
  9. I always love checking out GD cover projects and will that one, too (it's loaded with tunes!), but it looks like, for the most part, hipster bands....
  10. You're so f**ckin' special....
  11. I listened through tapperrob last night. Sounded good. Nice SOTM encore and the Dew was sweet. I guess they switch out Krasno for Herring tomorrow and Friday....
  12. I think I've posted this before, but this particular '78 U.S. Blues from Duke is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS (the whole show is stupendous, really). If you haven't watched, it's a must see clip for many reasons I'll allow those who haven't seen it to discover on their own: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdjlOPBBGXE
  13. I would have pegged him as a raw meat eater, actually. The Christie slam yesterday is amazing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8daClN2TzJM
  14. . Favorite book as a young kid. Read to my students for Read Across America on Friday and a re-read was requested.
  15. Nice! Saw him at The Fox in 1996 (wow 20 yrs ago) and still remember the show. It was not long after Copper Blue came out and he drew heavy off of it. Have fun.
  16. Somewhat related, a neat article on the BGP/GD relationship in '70 Winterland/Fillmore and Owsley benefit show: http://lostlivedead.blogspot.com/2012/03/december-23-1970-winterland-grateful.html
  17. Doesn't anyone else get tired of talking about Trump? Nothing is changing.
  18. There were three states with pretty big changes in gun laws as of the new year.....
  19. Cool. Tighter gun laws, such as permit-to-purchase, reduce suicide rates overall, though. Limiting the ease of access to guns saves lives.
  20. Suicide rates by guns, in particular, in the U.S. are a cultural phenomenon as the ease of availability directly impacts the rates.
  21. Not for nothing, but the easy availability to procure a gun is directly related to suicide rates.
