I think the early "Touch"'s being rushed was kind of an anomaly specific to that fall in '82 when it emerged. It slowed down quite a bit and quite quickly. Listen to, say, Lake Placid the following fall and the song has a really nice, mellow, almost "swing" rhythm to it.....

Oh man, I love the the back end of LLR! Last summer I played a different one from 80s about every night. Garcia's guitar work is fantastic on a lot of them and I dig the rising action of the tune and the Weir free-form vocal wiggle room. I also liked the echo effect Healy touched a bunch of them with....

There were only a handful of shows in the spring of '79 with Brent the new addition. The only thing that stands out to my memory is a rippin' "Passenger" from Lafayette College, PA. The new addition really shines in the fall, though, where the band obviously hits a hot spot.

I'm confused about how Bernie Sanders can win the popular vote in, say, Colorado a few days ago but the "super delegates", no pun intended, trump that and say Hillary wins. Wtf is the point in the common man/woman even showing up to vote? It's a broken and corrupt system, through and through, that dictates that the general public doesn't matter. At least, that's how I feel. I'm going back to writing in Gary Coleman as my choice.

Good question, as I generally think of Jerry/Brent harmonizing/backing vocals. Definitely Cassidy, then I'm thinking of Brent being in Bobby and the Midnites for a year or two and the tunes on that first Bob and Midnites album (which is a good listen every few years) and tunes like Too Many Losers, Haze, Book of Rules,.... Stranger, Throwing Stones, Sugar Mags, Women are Smarter, Good Lovin' all come to mind as really solid vocal input from Brent....
