  1. I think it was intended as a euphemism, of sorts. Kind of like that tune "Hungry Eyes." ed. I mean an idiom.
  2. http://consequenceofsound.net/2016/04/axl-rose-hobbled-by-a-broken-foot-performed-last-nights-guns-n-roses-show-in-dave-grohls-throne/ Oops, thought you meant "Coma," not "One in a Million."
  3. "Coma" was another one they almost never played but did last week, so....
  4. I'm pretty sure it was almost never played live, maybe a few times in late 80s....and I don't think they are playing in now, either.
  5. I haven't noticed the sweating/heavy breathing, but come one, it's 23 years later (at least) since he was flying around the stage and looking fit, lean, and healthy. I'd imagine 23 years on any of us is going to show some slowing down, weight gain, etc....
  6. Yeah, they do. A few noticeable things missing (some being pitches Axl can no longer hit) but overall good stuff.....
  7. The criteria/merit for who or whom deserves to be in it seems pretty arbitrary, though. Certainly Phish "deserve" to be in.....
  8. If Bjork didn't make it, there's no way in hell a band like KISS could ever make it. Oh wait. Well, at least Black Flag is in there. Wait....
  9. Nice, man, that's a cool place to camp.
  10. I saw the National Parks one. Not the best, but definitely not as boring as the 6-part one he had on paint drying.

  12. Pretty sure Willkie had only a bit part in the Roosevelt documentary....
  13. Has he ever put out a bad one? Looking forward to thisw one. recently watched the on on the Roosevelts, which or course was excellent, as well
  14. Nice. I just watched a few clips. Axl can't hit some notes like he used to, obviously, and Matt Sorum's double kick drum is a noticeable difference, particularly in a tune like "Paradise City," but they sound good! http://consequenceofsound.net/2016/04/axl-rose-hobbled-by-a-broken-foot-performed-last-nights-guns-n-roses-show-in-dave-grohls-throne/
  15. ^Really should be combined with National Hot Dog Day....
  16. No. We were pretty messed up from the bird. I have canoed the CT River from VT/NH-> CT, but not as far as the ATL Ocean....
  17. And then you saw a sheep walking down some stairs....
  18. Good point. Either way, I'm still pissed Ballantine XXX Ale no longer exists (I know, Pabst own the name now, and shit, I DRINK Pabst), but I long for it none the less.
  19. A favorite: "Sing Me Back Home." The GD covered this in the early days (as well as a one-time take of "Oakie from Muskogee" w/ the Beach Boys!). They also covered"Mama Tried" consistently for a good chunk of their career.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDDyyDjWM_0
  20. Saw this list the other day of craft beers that are actually just shills for corporate beer companies: http://www.mensjournal.com/food-drink/drinks/is-that-really-craft-beer-21-surprising-corporate-brewers-20150923
  21. We were baked and canoeing on the Lamprey River in New Market, NH around 1987/88 and an enormous swan attacked us (apparently we were approaching its egg nest on a band on a bend of the river). That monster-thing was furious and relentless and the wing-span must've been 80-90 ft.(or so it seemed) and we capsized trying to fend it off with our oars. Thanks for the memories, NoJ!
  22. Cool, I'll check some of this stuff out. Didn't Duff play with AIC for a spell after Layne's death?
  23. I saw them in '91 (Greensboro or Charlotte, can't remember which) and Roanoke in '93. Would've nice to see them in the late 80s but the shows were still good (even though Izzy had left shortly after '91 show).
