  1. ^ Oh man, I haven't seen/heard of this one! Must be new. I have most of his writings. I had no idea he had an autobiographical book like this on tap before be died. Also, check out the Netflix documentary on him, if you haven't. It's excellent.
  2. Usually when artists "borrow" parts of tunes for their own it isn't the title/main chorus part. Lazy crap, imo.
  3. I've only read The Bandini series, which was very good. As you may know, Bukowski actually helped get him a larger audience through his (Bukowsi's) publisher, Black Sparrow Press.
  4. The old Centrum was a pit. Saw some really good shows there (a Terrapin 2nd set opener in 84 comes to mind). I remember big metal barrels with fires in them by the RxR tracks to keep warm by, too....
  5. The Centrum is beautiful this time of year (I don't think it's the Centrum anymore, actually).
  6. The tones on Mayer's guitar were early- mid 70s Garcia-esque, to my ears.
  7. Nothing besides that album? They've put out a lot of solid shit in 25 yrs, imo. Granted I haven't bought an album since Vitalogy in the mid-90s, but....
  8. Does anyone here ever accept invitations on Linked In? Why am I even on Linked In? My ex g/f from 88-95 just invited me to add her.
  9. Was hoping this thread would be about Phil Lesh and his liver and cancer foibles, but I'll check out the above show none the less.
  10. Nice contribution, radiowilco. Thanks. As much as I dig and appreciate Trey, I think Mayer sounds and fits more naturally in the outfit, even after hearing only half a show.
  11. Agree. I tuned in from second set on and was very impressed.
  12. McCarver is one of the worst. I hate listening to him fellate the NYY. I always liked Harold Reynolds, though. I think Joe Buck catches a lot of shit just because "he's not his dad." And that he's a twit.
  13. I missed large parts up until the 6th inning but stayed up to watch to the end. Very entertaining game last night but I still had nightmares about Pete Rose even though I didn't see him....
  14. Scratch that. I learned just last night about Fox bringing in Pete Rose for post-game analysis (along with Hamburger Helper hand A-Rod). Christ, Fox blows.
  15. I was telling/writing the other day how the Cape Cod shows (on tape) are pretty much always close by my tape player and ready for a listen. I've had the aud. tapes for years, too. The sbds on archive are dynamite, though. The nearly hour-long Dancin'->Franklins->He's Gone-> Other One....holy cow.
  16. Wild. It's a great tune, you're just sick of hearing for the past 25 years.
  17. So wait, the song "Jeremy" is based off of a real event?
  18. FSO (Rob Eaton, Rob Barraco and their sons with Robin Sylvester). For $10, why not.
  19. Whoah. "Who Do You Love" 1966 video. Dig the canoe footage in it, too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gn-T5EJM73w
  20. Zombie Trap Room tomorrow. Bring brains.
  21. Almost always Jerry/Brent's side, but once in a blue moon on Phil's side. I rooted for the Mets against L.A. but the Cubs against the Mets. Now I'll root for whoever plays the Mets to win.
  22. Didn't the Cubs win 7 straight against the Mets in the regular season? Mets pitching really improved and hit it's peak at the right time, I guess.
