Hmmmm....

No doubt. On edge every appearance this post season. He's been bailed out more than once, too.

Looks awesome, and almost half of The Good Earth played (my favorite album of theirs).

Good questions, and, it'd be interesting to hear the answers to them. '86 was only a half year due to the coma, of course. And then, In '87, In the Dark was released.... '92 saw "only" 57 shows....I know there were no NYE shows, but trying to remember why so few. No fall tour that year, I think, but forget the reason why. I also noted that ticket prices doubled (from $2 to $4) from '69 to '70. I wonder if there was outrage, at the time, at the increase in ticket prices...

Save it for later, u2roolz....

I agree. MLB's best pitching (HOU) vs. MLB's best offense (BOS). Going to be a great series, regardless of outcome.

This was kind of interesting to check out. GD's ticket revenue, all-time....: http://www.gratefulseconds.com/2016/01/grateful-dead-touring-revenues-1965-1995.html

Shoot, I need to finish S3 (fell asleep on a few of the last ones, too).
-
Nice. 10.10.80 show, particularly the electric stuff, is top-notch, imo.
-
Yep, tense moments. Glad BOS eked it out, of course, and glad it was NYY that they did. HOU will be tough.

Not that it truly matters in regard to the man's awesome body of work, but why do you say he won't? The man is pushing the very back nine of his life, is loved by everyone who has ever listened to him, and has gotten plenty of love from Rolling Stone critics over the decades.

The Sox have made up for pitching (when called upon) with offense all year with their bats. They lost 3 games in a row once last season? OI see no reason they can't take the Astros if that ends up being the case. Vegas has odds on the Sox, as well. Not much over HOU, but over HOU.

As a BOS fan I would love to see a showdown with the NYY, personally, as going through and defeating NYY is the sweetest path to victory, imo.
-
And don't forget Little Feat's Sailin' Shoes. The first notes on the opener "Easy to Slip" alone!
-
Kidding on any "conspiracy," but you know no one in MLB headquarters is pumped to see a Brewers/Rockies series. Cubs/Brewers would be better for ratings, obviously. And, agree with the Maddon silliness. Epstein is no fool....

The slide into 2nd by Butera, for one obvious one. Even the replay shows he was safe.
-
Pretty sure the Commissioner had a hand in some of those calls on the field. It was nice to see home town kid Freeland rise to the occasion in such a setting.
-
I predict whichever team scores the most runs tonight takes this thing.
-
And Mookie and Cora for A.L. Oh, and can you please predict a Cubs win for tonight?
-
Hopefully you'll be 50% correct at this point. Tough pitching the Cubs faced from the 6th on today. Home from work sick and enjoying these tie-breakers.

I did Atlanta to Worcester that spring and the 4.1.88 is likely my favorite one out of them.....The 1/2-Step, Jack Straw opener was fantastic. Didn't care much for the Ballad, here or the Hampton one.
-
Stranger, Franklin's is on Dead Set but from two different shows in '80. It fit really nicely on the album. I wonder if that was the impetus for trying the pairing live.

Saw T Stones into drums in New Haven that fall (9.23.82)
-
It's a fun tune with quirky Hunter lyrics and some nice Garcia bounce to it. What's not to like?!

Caught all 3 Dick's shows Labor Day weekend. Overall, fantastic stuff. A bunch of traditional 2nd set stuff tossed into opener/first set slots. No tricks or themes or anything, just fantastic music. People were giving tickets away the first night, cheap ones the second night, and cheap ones the 3rd night up until an hour before the show, then they spiked high. Riviera Maya just announced.today. Would love to hit this....
