  1. Love Dave Mason. Particularly, Alone Together. Caught JRAD at Red Rocks last night. As you know, always a fantastic treat of music. The Jack Straw verse in the middle of Half-Step captured their vibe, for me.
  2. What a season thus far. It's been a thrill watching this team. Last night was another ridiculous example of how they plug away an have an air of surety and confidence that makes comebacks seem common.
  3. Started the Netflix documentary series I Am a Killer last night about people on death row and how they landed there. It touches on the the death penalty controversy and is very well done https://www.netflix.com/title/80202283. Looking to start the new Orange is the New Black season tonight or tomorrow ( i THINK it's out...).
  4. I replied "Ditto!" to this last February and would, at this time, like to "officially: retract my comment.
  5. One of my favorite writers. I've been dipping into this one for several years, a story here and there, come back to it a few months later.....
  6. Was at that Alpine one, as well. I really enjoyed Brent tunes at shows and thought an Easy to Love You, or Far From Me or Blow Away or Tons of Steel or whatever was a nice piece to a set and a welcomed change from the (typical) Weir-Garcia-Weir-Garcia (or Garcia-Weir-Garcia-Weir) pattern. I'm not sure all of "his" tunes hold up real well, though, years later, Blow Away being one of them (though it hurts a bit to think this).
  7. And, the St. Stephen break-out at MSG fall of '83. I caught the Hartford one and the whole place had a HUGE anticipatory vibe during the Space. Similar 2nd set to the MSG show, as well. Still gives me chills to listen to it. I always found it a bit odd that the tune had only been "shelved" for 4 years, too!
  8. We started watching It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia a few weeks ago and are on Season 7 now. Can't believe we waited so long to watch this series. Devito is ther cast hilarious, and the other cast members, as well,
  9. Dead & LLC a couple night ago in Boulder. Meh. Skipped last night. Mickey was licking the Beam during "Space." Probably the most interesting point of the show.
  10. Caught DSO at Red Rocks last night (recreating 7.8.78 Red Rocks show). Donna sang, too. Overall, an excellent might of music. The joint was certainly jumping.
  11. Don't know if you do aud., but there's always the Charlie Miller auds....He taped all of the BD shows. I believ he made MP3s and one big etree torrent available.
  12. We watched that a few weeks ago. Bizarre story. We were left still a bit confused, as well. Binge-watched The Staircase on Netflix yesterday. The thing could have been pared down a lot, imo (12 or 13 episodes, I think). Pretty interesting from a legal standpoint and, again, still left with doubts at the end as to innocence/guilt. Regardless, Michael Peterson didn't get a fair trial the first time around, at least.
  13. The red tape gets tighter and the expectations higher every year. The job gets more stressful and the pay remains relatively the same. Autonomy gets diminished each year and micro-management from admin increases every year. The fun gets sucked out of the classroom more and more eaxch year.I don't know how much longer I can do this, after 20 + yrs, as well, Pete....
  14. Last day with students. Commence sanity.
  15. I've got 6 large riding on this game for their opponent.
  16. Just checked box score, no HBP for Rizzo.
  17. Too late for the Pirates, but at least they're (re-)setting a norm.
  18. Yeah, actually surprised it wasn't overturned. Either way, it was a bullshit slide, imo. He was already out. "Breaking up the double play" by taking a man down from behind is weak. He'll definitely take one today. Glad Diaz is ok, too.
  19. Exact same reaction. Kinda had to be done....
  20. From the Stranger Danger bit, apparently JJ Bittenbinder is a real guy: http://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/chicagoinc/ct-ent-john-mulaney-kid-gorgeous-jj-bittenbinder-0511-story.html
  21. Having seen them a ton (former locals), I'd shy away from calling them jam/improv band, though they certainly have that in their veins. Thdey are pretty loose, live, but still have the Bluegrass/Roots backbone, imo. Saw them open for Phil Lesh and his band a couple weeks ago at Red Rocks and they were still fun. They've got a new album out and are touring for the first time in a spell, too. Curious about the "Vince Herman was just gibberish" comment, though...
  22. Watched John Mulaney's latest on Netflix last night: John Mulaney: Kid Gorgeous at Radio City. Excellent. Probably my favorite stand up guy, these days. Also, watched the documentary Evil Genius, which was pretty creepy. Bank robbery, bomb collar, etc. And, to complete the trifecta of a lazy Sunday: The Rachel Divide, about the white lady identifying as a black lady and heading a local chaptef of the NAACP in Portland, OR.
  23. Never heard of this band. Need to check them out out as I like Dave Zollo's other stuff, The Body Electric, etc.
  24. Cool. Did Pinkus play any banjo?
