  1. Avett Brothers/Ratdog- Red Rocks Jane's Addiction- Ogden Theater, Denver Hard Working Americans- Boulder Theater Todd Snider/Jason Isbell- Ogden Theater
  2. Fall '79 is solid as hell through and through, too, with the Cape Cod shows and Buffalo 11/9 a few of my favorites. The Jack Straw alone from Buffalo is worth the listen....
  3. Saw him and Todd Snider back-to-back at a small, local fest last summer. Good stuff.
  4. He'd been sick for awhile. He went peacefully, at least. Garcia's "Captain Trips" had sells at auction for over $100,000: http://www.christies.com/lotfinder/Memorabilia/jerry-garcia-5865108-details.aspx
  5. I wish I didn't have the image of John Lennon's naked ass in my head right now.
  6. Neil Young is way more Punk and/or R&R than Green Day and he staged a play to his music/concept album....
  7. Nine months after The Mamas & The Papa's induction?
  8. I didn't want to start a Cat Stevens/Yusef Islam thread but was looking to dump this into a general music-like thread but couldn't find one. Anyone catch Cat Stevens recently? I know he did a few shows and then cancelled a bunch. I think I would have liked to see him as it's a rarity and he hasn't really played much in public the past 30 yrs or so.
  9. Iggy Azalea (if that's even his real name) will be inducting Iggy Pop, I'd presume.
  10. Green Day (or members thereof) inducted both GnR and The Stooges into this HoF. Just saying.
  11. Pretty sure whomever the small cadre of RS panelists deem are worthy become worthy....
  12. Green Day doesn't? Why? The criteria seems to be fairly arbitrary and they've sold a shit-ton of albums and fit the time "requirements". Personal taste, I guess?
  13. You guys see this? Kinda cool: http://www.rrauction.com/preview_itemdetail.cfm?IN=2172
  14. Dylan's satellite show is a treat. I've only heard it a couple times as I don't have satellite service. Either way, his "Hava Nagila" is awesome....
  15. I'd ask "how was Tuna?" but it's a stupid question to ask because I know the answer. I didn't know Larry Campbell was playing with them....
  16. Pretty small in comparison to contracts signed of late for top starters, and actually less than he would have got from other teams had he waited a little longer until Lester, et al, signed.
  17. Gillian Welch/David Rawlings.... The album was made in Weir's TRI studios, too....
  18. I'm pretty sure you had to have "Wrecking Ball" on your album this year if you wanted to be noticed....
  19. Hard Working Americans The album is all covers, but what a nice album. Todd Snider, Dave Schools, Neal Casal, Duane Trucks, etc. Won some AMA's too, I believe.....
  20. Just finished reading The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman to my fifth graders. Highly recommended for kids and adults alike. It won the Newbery Medal in 2009.
  21. Do it! Jack and Jorma's home town.....Electric Tuna? Hell yeah.
