Suggestions for a new acoustic
Gobias Industries replied to BigWheeledWagon's topic in Solid State Technology
Seagull guitars are pretty well-crafted Canadian guitars (Godin subsidiary). List price they're about 500-600$ (off the top of my head), but I got mine around $300 on eBay as a gift from my parents about 6-7 years ago. There may be other models that are cheaper or more expensive than the one I had. I've also heard pretty good things about Alvarez, but I'm not sure if you can find one under $500. -
Kerry Wood, you piss me off.

I saw the trailer. Looked inneresting, I'll try to check it out. But in the interest of picking up reading again, I'm contemplating picking this book up. While this is a nitpicky kind of deal, should I invest in hardbound for this book or is going paperback not too bad? I ask because sometimes it changes the experience in minuscule ways, and perhaps I would like to experience this in the "best way" possible.

I think "pretty foxy" is also a decent description, but that's neither here nor there.

I wonder if they teach this in J-shcool

I'm not sure Jeff Tweedy is like Johnny Rotten or whomever doesn't give a shit anymore. Jeff puts his energies doing stuff he wants to do, not doing stuff just to piss everyone off or to "show the man up." For most people, songwriting is a deeply personal thing and to think it otherwise (especially for someone like Jeff Tweedy) is really doing them a great disservice.

Again. I feel like every time I think of posting in this thread I'm always listening to the same album. Or something like that. Never thought I could get into trad indie pop (does this genre even exist?) like this but damn, it's good.

I don't really get the Bull Black Nova vs. Spiders comparisons, because Bull Black Nova has sense of urgency while Spiders is rather languid for a good reason.

Gotcha covered, man. It'll be incoming as soon as the thing finishes uploading. I forgot to thank you for that email, so thanks for that one, it kinda made my week.

? (Let It Be...Naked is a damn fine album, thank you very much).

Post inane comments about the new Wilco album

Take your not-inane comments elsewhere, bub. -
You are testing my will, my friend. And I may lose the battle.

Eligible for a new phone from Verizon
Gobias Industries replied to Mrs. Peel's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
With T9, all things are possible...until you have to hit "Next" 50 times to find the word you're looking for. I have the Chocolate, I think it's the most recent version so I haven't had problems with my phone randomly contacting others. The keys are a little small since it's just a sliding phone but it's not too hard to adapt. And I don't use any internet functions or anything, so this phone works. But speaking of phones I am tempted to get a Blackberry soon. -
Have a splendid birthday!!!1

Yup, again.

While I loves me some BT, it has no place in the top slot. Sorry, play again.

Plays anything and everything for free, and it's not as resource hoggy as iTunes. I have both, I use iTunes because I have an iPod that I actively manually manage, but foobar is a good alternative. It's not as fancy-looking as iTunes, but the ability to play anything from FLAC to wav to mp3 (and convert those formats back and forth) is a godsend. I use foobar mostly for file conversion nowadays since I am shoehorned into using iTunes. ed: Wow, ok, a little late to the parade, I didn't notice.

The comparison would be valid if Jeff and whoever the other songwriter in the group was were actively trying to slay each other while the third, blooming songwriter guy was just trying to get some fucking songs on the record. That's not the case with Wilco. Wilco loves being Wilco. The Beatles did not like being the Beatles near the end. It was a well-put argument though.

Post inane comments about the new Wilco album

Did you notice how every Wilco record sounds exactly the same when you turn the volume all the way down? I mean, the rehashing! They're like Nickelback! -
And the bullpen blows it again. Swell.
