  1. It was terrible. I couldn't recognize the song until the very end, and then it was like "That's terrible, how could someone do such a thing?"
  2. I never had this album until now. Shame on me. This is quick becoming a top 10 record for me.
  3. {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{vibes}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
  4. Haven't walked out ever, but I was seriously contemplating it once. I was going for Jens Lekman, and this "band" called the Honeydrips (just a guy) came out with a laptop. He had a guitar, but he didn't use it, he just kinda lazily put his hands on it. He was like a statue, nothing. The only real interaction was "These lights, they're kinda pretty, aren't they?" My friend and I were like "wtf?" but we stuck it through because we were there for Jens. Turns out, the guitar the guy was 'holding' was Jens's guitar, but Jens was awesome, so the show was saved.
  5. No Time Out Of Mind? I'm tempted to call serious bullshit on this list. But that's just me. I mean, come on, it's Bob fucking Dylan.
  6. I am a fan of it, mostly because it seems "I'm Not There" has inspired me and thus broken my songwriting funk...two sets of lyrics in two days, the first with music, and this one just now, I can't do titles, but whatever, I'm pretty happy: “Gregory Priest,” all the townsfolk said to me “you’ll fall in love with the first girl you really meet” at first I thought that was Cinderella on the TV but it turned out that she was just too sweet so I took the journey to the lost country of France and tried to find a lady there but caught in their books they were lost in a trance so I just hit the road
  7. I had decided this: Maybe I'll go back to Bringing It All Back Home after this, but I'm leaning towards skipping ahead a bit to John Wesley Harding...
  8. I'm kinda on a Dylan/Band thing right now, I will probably move on to Bringing It All Back Home or Highway 61 Revisited after this.
  9. I think some obvious selections have been overlooked... the Beatles - She Loves You the Beatles - I Want to Hold Your Hand the Beatles - All My Loving the Beatles - Hey Jude or basically the 95% of the Beatles catalog that is pure awesome love song.
  10. Maybe Cage is too trendy to be considered minimalist.
  11. I suppose this is old news concerning Olympic baseball, but I told my dad that the US got bronze, and he basically said that they deserved it for running into the catchers in the US-China game. I got pissed and told him that A. that kind of thing is always a part of baseball, and B. the Chinese pitcher beaned Matt fuckin' LaPorte in the head (I mean, the dude was endangering a Cleveland Indian prospect, so what the fuck, man?), which is more unacceptable. Of course, he wasn't having any of it. I gave up, because he thinks China is awesome regardless of what they do, even beaning someone in
  12. This one doesn't have a title...any suggestions? I was listening to "I'm Not There" by Dylan a lot when I wrote this, also a few feelings being emoted... as God said to himself “Adam deserves an Eve” I finally found an angel in which I can believe she came to me in a long-forgotten dream she’s a fleeting image passing through tried to catch her once but away she flew here for a moment but then gone again I see her when I sleep and it gets me every time her eyes just pierce me and I’ll bleed ‘til I die she’s mine in my visions but not outside I wake from my daydream and see she's not min
  13. Apparently they upped the price on the album to 8.49...which is good for me, because I got it for 2.99
  14. Oh. Underwhelming. I thought it was some kind of witty phrase that would reminisce of Oscar Wilde.
  15. Riech, John Cage, there's a lot of 'em. Are you talking minimalism in "pop" music or as a genre, including the "classical" form of it?
  16. You only need to justify your own existence.
  17. I believe in the existence of a higher Dude out there. Faith is awesome. Awesome.
  18. The ironic thing is that the majority of M*chiganers don't take the thing as seriously as we do. I'm a born and bred Buckeye so obviously this means the world to me...haha. After the title game this year, the only thing I could say to myself is "At least we beat them."
