Nope. A horrible metal opener (he was touring the metalish LP, Instinct) called Balaam & the Angel. -

Any chance you, or anyone else here for that matter, was at the Iggy show at Metro in July '88? My two best friend from H.S. road tripped from Des Moines for that show. Thirty-one years later we're still telling stories. -

Thought about citing these, but there were just a few tracks on each that were memorable to me. -

David Bowie's social media people have been pushing the 30th anniversary of Tin Machine. That's reminded me how many albums came out that year that I really liked: Tin Machine - S/T Bob Mould - Workbook (to this day, my favorite) Lou Reed - New York Neil Young - Freedom Pixies - Doolittle De La Soul - 3 Feet High and Rising Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique Tom Petty - Full Moon Fever Stone Roses - S/T Replacements - Don't Tell a Soul (not one of their best, obviously, but I saw them in June of '89 when I'd first started dating my wife, emotionally attached) XTC - Oranges & Lemons Indigo Gi

I saw that one too. I prefer May to February mostly because of that light at the end of the tunnel.

Got a day or so in St.Louis what to do?

The arch is kind of an adventure in a tornado warning with a 13 year old afraid of heights. That's what I learned last year. -
Today started with a power outage at my school after rough storms last night. If our kitchen wasn't up and running by 9:00, we were going to dismiss. Everything came back online around 8:55.

Are you a craft beer fan? 4 Hands and Urban Chestnut are both fantastic. Urban Chestnut has the U.R.B. (Urban Research Brewery) where you can get cheap 5 oz pours. -

From what I can discern, tickets are not for sale yet. It looks like they're still looking for hosts for some of these dates. Would love to hit Omaha. -
His podcast also introduced me to Tig Notaro. That was a pretty important discovery in my life.

This should be good. I enjoyed Garlin's interview of Tweedy. https://news.avclub.com/larry-david-to-piss-off-jeff-tweedy-on-the-next-season-1834485130

Five months in... Time to start a new thread. I am really enjoying The Poisonwood Bible so far. About halfway in.

I've started Catastrophe on Amazon Prime. Funny, often touching.

I haven't heard Warmer yet, so I can't directly comment on that. I will say I feel just about the opposite between Star Wars and Schmilco. I love Star Wars and rarely find myself wanting to listen to Schmilco.

That's fantastic! -
I agree that it's cool to support RSD, but it seems to fuel a FOMO phenomenon that I am just avoiding. I'm not a vinyl guy at all and all the limited releases for RSD are making me kind of glad that I'm not.

I Am Maris on Netflix. The subject in this documentary is the daughter of an old high school friend, the niece of one of my lifelong closest friends. This is a powerful story of healing and strength following a debilitating eating disorder. As a middle school teacher, I am glad to have been able to have her Facetime with my students a couple of times.

The Twins are alone in 1st place. Not sure I'll be able to say that many times this season.

I'm a little concerned about how many of you are rooting for an economic downturn. I hate Trump, but geez.
