  1. Only 2 epsiodes in. I keep forgetting about it. Can't wait! Mike Judge may be the most underrated satirist of our age.
  2. I'm curious how others feel. I found it unlistenable when it first came out. I re-listened to quite a bit of it just now, same reaction.
  3. Joe Pera Talks With You. Season two started airing this week.
  4. I like the Old 97s Christmas album from last year.
  5. I would love to participate, but I've lost all concept of time.
  6. Love is Everywhere (Beware) in an Ally Bank commercial.
  7. I took my 14 year old son to Jojo Rabbit. He and his friend liked it. I'm glad he's getting into weird stuff. I was hoping for a more powerful ending, but it was a very good movie. Sam Rockwell is so good.
  8. Bookmark this post. Wilco is in by 2025, maybe sooner. Edit: I guess I should add my reasoning. It seems like YHF is just too universally lauded as a classic and important LP to ignore.
  9. The Mandalorian is pretty sweet. A great western set in the Star Wars universe AND Werner Herzog among many others.
  10. Today I am online at church awaiting the end of my daughter's choir rehearsal. I am wondering if any of the bot topics on this forum are setting off any alarm bells.
  11. The last time I saw Wilco in a sit-down theater (TWL tour), I left disappointed. I don't know if it was the crowd or the band, but I decided part of it was the setting. I think I was wrong. Last night's show may have been my favorite. They were great. The OTJ songs jumped of the stage in a way that surprised me. Lots of faves including closing with I'm A Wheel. I was in an area where people were sitting most of the time. The seats directly behind me were empty, so I didn't hear complaints when I stood alone from time to time. I thought the crowd was very receptive and the band gave them exac
  12. 25 Years of Wilco: Tracing the Band's Live Evolution Through Their Bootlegs I may not read this article after reading the first sentence.
  13. Meat Hair is the 3 dudes in Deep Sea Diver. They played 2 or 3 instrumental numbers to open the show I saw. I really liked it. Never heard so much rock that was based off the drumming more than anything else. With two real opener, I suppose they'll probably skip this.
  14. Enjoy. Let me know what you think of Meat Hair if they open up.
  15. At their gig in Des Moines, everyone in the band besides the singer "opened" as Meat Hair. They played some instrumental stuff. I'd never heard so much rock music clearly built around the drummer. I think that helped me get into their stuff a bit more. He is outstanding.
  16. Did anyone see Deep Sea Diver open? I saw them Friday in Des Moines. I really enjoyed them.
  17. I saw Deep See Diver Friday night. They'll be opening a few shows for Wilco soon. Enjoy. I was thorougly entertained. You probably won't get their cover of Reservations, which was great. https://youtu.be/wkVqY8OJbCw https://youtu.be/-S2_YVjOjXc Some videos recorded by a friend.
  18. Picked this up yesterday. It's got some real gems. Parquet Courts kind of melds Handshake Drugs, I've Got You at the End of the Century, Bull Black Nova into one song. Very cool! Kurt Vile makes Passenger Side sound like he wrote it. I love Low's War on War. Puss n Boots features Norah Jones singing Jesus, Etc. which I believe she's done live. Definitely worth the $12 or $13 bucks w/o the magazine, which I haven't looked at yet.
  19. I keep checking my local Barnes & Noble. As of Monday it still wasn't on the shelf.
  20. I really enjoyed this book. Kind of epic in scope. The movie got horrible reviews. They may have bitten off more than they could chew. It may have been more effective as a miniseries.
  21. Can't believe T Rex is just now getting in. Glad to see it.
  22. I keep meaning to re-watch Jackie Brown. Perhaps this will light a fire under me to do so.
