  1. The tribute streamed on YouTube is still available. Some great peformances from Jason Isbell & Amanda Shires, Todd Snider, Kurt Vile, Brandi Carlile, and many, many more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jv05dPfmx40
  2. Agreed. The music industry is very different than it was when Neil Young released "This Note's For You".
  3. I felt like we needed a thread to honor Mr. Floyd. A life taken too soon and far too tragically. I weep for Minneapolis. I spent a few years of my childhood in the Twin Cities and it's always been close to my heart. I love the culture, the music scenes, their sports teams. So sad to see a city I consider my home away from home on fire.
  4. He gave me a laugh out loud moment just last night as my wife and I were watching Have a Good Trip. A new documentary about psychedelics on Netflix.
  5. I'm guessing they just paid $50. https://www.cameo.com/peternoone
  6. It seems to me that he gave absolutely no fucks about what people thought about his sexuality or his race. Living the way he did when he did was pretty damn courageous. I nice tribute from Jeff Tweedy: https://twitter.com/JeffTweedy/status/1259175009987309568?s=20
  7. Jason Narucy, Chicago musician (his own current band is called Split Single and he is the current bassist for Bob Mould and Superchunk) had a musical based on his teenage punk band Verboten at the House Theatre of Chicago. I was hoping to get there to see it. Obviously, that's not happening, but they did make a stream available for a pay as you wish ticket (min. $15). I just bought mine after being reminded that this is the last day tickets are available. You have one week after your purchase to view it. Here's the Chicago Tribune review: https://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/theate
  8. What ran through my mind when I saw a new post here: "FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DON'T BE OUT AND ABOUT, PEOPLE!"
  9. Those are great albums to calm the mind during a time like this. Me? Prince. All day.
  10. I like these new songs. I'm not sure I could listen to a whole album of them in one sitting.
  11. I like that Rookie album. I think it was a Greg Not tweet that led me to it.
  12. I just have to remember not to be wearing a beer shirt on mine.
  13. Good idea! I love That's How I Got to Memphis.
  14. I saw them with NRBQ in 1989 on the Green tour in Ames, IA. We were not impressed with NRBQ, I think they put on a pretty drunken show. Doing some research about this show I see that they closed with a cover of VU's After Hours. I have absolutenly no recollection of that.
  15. Thanks for sharing your experience. Glad you're on the mend!
  16. Lean on Me, Ain't No Sunshine, and Lovely Day alone warrant entrance to ANY Songrwiter Hall of Fame. RIP.
  17. Watching Ozark. The son looks very much like Spencer, IMO.
  18. That's a good nomination except for this one unfortunate lyric. "All across the nation, people are gettin' together"
  19. FUCK! https://twitter.com/JohnPrineMusic/status/1244374068226293761?s=20
  20. Richard Thompson on Facebook live right now! https://www.facebook.com/watch/live/?v=144162387012169&ref=watch_permalink
  21. Negative is positive! Stay safe.
  22. I think they mentioned it was cut in one of the Tweedy family livestreams.
  23. That seems strange. Is there a fear that strangers in neighboring courts could pass the virus by mindlessly shagging each other's balls? I'm thinking once it's a bit warmer, I'll head to the local park's pickleball courts to play with my son. We're way closer in our house than we would playing pickleball.
  24. I seriously miss the ellipticals I used at my school's fitness room and the local YMCA. I hate biking when it's below 50. The cold shreds my lungs. So.... using an old Airdyne stationary bike that is totally uncomfortable or going for 1.5-2 hour walks.
