  1. Can't believe T Rex is just now getting in. Glad to see it.
  2. I keep meaning to re-watch Jackie Brown. Perhaps this will light a fire under me to do so.
  3. The internet and instant access to setlists must wreak havoc with many Arists. I often tell myself I won't look at recent setlists when I have a show coming up. My willpower to follow through is weak.
  4. I've only listened once. It's a great album. I feel like I got a preview at Iowa's Hinterland Festival in August 2018. His keyboardist was sick and the played like a power trio with some wild extended guitar solos. Noisy and angry as hell.
  5. I listened to a lot of Cream yesterday. When you really focus on the drums... Baker was a beast!
  6. Once Upon in Time in Hollywood has inspired me to read Helter Skelter. About 100 pages in and I am loving it.
  7. I just got done with my first listen and am listening to Schmilco for comparison because, I haven't honestly listened to it that much. I am listening to both through headphones. I think I like the production on OTJ better. The drums pop more and there are more places where Nels' guitar is out front. Probably my favorite moment one listen in is the guitar solo on We Were Lucky. Overall, I can get why some like this album (moody, layered, quiet, introspective) and others don't (no real rock songs, lacking melody, similar to Schmilco and recent solo efforts). Probably my biggest disappointmen
  8. This guy doesn't get it... https://ultimateclassicrock.com/wilco-albums-ranked/ I know we're still 3 days away from OTJ's official release, but I'm going to take a stab at it. 1) AM 2) BT 3) ST 4) YHF 5) AGIB 6) SBS 7) W(TA) 8) TWL 9) SW 10) Schmilco 11) OTJ
  9. I don't recall ever seeing Mikael play an actual piano before. That song sounds like it could belong in TWL, which is fine with me.
  10. I love it. I haven't listened to the whole live set yet, but there are some really great cuts on there. I always thought "I Won't" was one of their weakest tracks ever and even that's listenable. I saw them the night after the live set here at Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul. It was the night after my first date with the woman who would become my wife. I was in college at the time and spent the rest of that summer working at a summer camp about 3 hours away so I have a pretty emotional connection to that show and the "Can't Hardly Wait".
  11. Pretty well aware of this. I might even assume after attending 100s of shows, he's gotten to know the guys in the band a bit. I was just curious about how appearing in the video came about. Who asked him? How long did it take? Any anecdotes from the filming?
  12. Palace Theatre would be a great venue for Wilco, IMO. Saw Bob Mould there last year. Kind of like The Riviera in Chicago, standing room on the floor, sitting in the balcony.
  13. I'd be curious how your involvement came about. How fun!
  14. Great video. I just wish they'd picked an angle of the Marina Towers (which I always want to call Mariana, for some reason) that didn't have the Trump Tower in the background.
  15. Milkwood LP on Spotify https://open.spotify.com/album/01QKvfBXwoa3wokVJx21m7?si=RUfd9_biS9a82UeWVgOVuA
  16. https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/Ric-Ocasek-Cars-Singer-Dead-in-NY-at-75-560430391.html Pulled up the first Cars LP after seeing the news. Brilliant stuff.
  17. I had a friend in Berlin for work who was able to go. He sent a video with a minute or so of Reservations. It sounded great. Here's how he described the venue.
  18. Kurt Vile doing Passenger Side should be good.
  19. So we've officially stopped counting the number of "nothing"s on Misunderstood, eh?
