I know a few people who came legally from Mexico. They don't feel like their teeth are being kicked in. That was done by INS. Arbitrarily scheduled meetings in cities miles away, delays caused by incompetent officials. Feom my point of view, we need these laborers and then bitch about them when they show up.

I saw him open for Ryan Adams a month or so ago. He played that song. Many years ago, I'd seen the Pretenders in the same venue. He started off very slow, but when his band came out, he played 3 or 4 really solid songs.

Today has been hard.

Three observations: 1. I teared up pretty thick when Ray started the show. I am sure that wasn't easy. 2. Their mother laughs exactly like them. What a household that must have been to grow up in. 3. I was really tickled when his wife called in.

Best laugh I had all day.

Yep. Again, just a casual fan. Eat a Peach and Fillmore are the only CDs I own.

So I listened to my Eat a Peach CD today. Never realized there was a Butch Trucks in the band back then. I figured he had to be related to Derek. A quick google search confirmed that he was his uncle. Not a HUGE Allmans fan, but surprised I'd never figured that out before.

To elaborate on my earlier post. I don't think anything that's mutually agreeable with come close to being a solution. I don' think piecemeal legislation will have much of an impact on anything.

That was a great night. I've heard differing versions on how impromptu the 2nd encore was. I was thinking of that moment Saturday night when Ryan Adams didn't play an encore. Quite a large contingency continued to yell and clap as the crew was breaking things down. Turns out it was past curfew, at least according to Adams on Twitter.

It's a fantastic ride. The climax is the most climactic climax I've ever seen.
