  1. i finally downloaded the zipped mp3's, but have not had a chance to unzip and burn. how did everyone burn these to CD - i'm guessing there is over 80 mins of music so it has to be split across 2 cd's? (i must have missed the download at once button because i did it one at a time)
  2. i saw that on Jay's page. my internet is too slow to stream. it's a second or two of music. stop. music. stop. music. stop.
  3. Who's heard his pre-Wilco band, Titanic Love Affair and what do you think (does he sing lead)?
  4. true. it's sad that the entire page of comments on his Myspace is all spam except for one i think. i wonder if he's considered scoring film (or even ever been asked to)?
  5. it's funny how the split from Wilco will always follow Bennett. every review of Magnificient Defeat had a paragraph or two about it before starting the actual review - this was what, 5-6 years (he left Wilco in 2000, right because YHF came on in 2001 i think or was it 01/02) afterwards? here, i've just asked where the man was and it turned about it. i guess because that was the last the public knew of him, whereas, tweedy/wilco has gone on to put out a couple well known albums, etc. (i had to add "well known" to that last sentence when i realized Bennett had put out 4 in that same time p
  6. that's Burch singing Venus, right? on the amazon clip it just doesn't sound that expressive or like he's going anywhere with it. that's funny, i just redeemed my first point. how many does it take to get a song?
  7. from his myspace page that has not even been logged into since June 2007: "One of his latest production efforts was Blues Traveler's Bastardos!, released in September of 2005 on Vanguard, a project which caused the songwriting flood gates to open. Jay went on a creative tear, writing and recording over 70 songs, and the good folks at Rykodisc released the album titled The Magnificent Defeat which captured this output on September 26th, 2006." I'm surprised he hasn't put out another album with the rest of the 70 songs not used. I listened to clips of two of his albums on Amazon and it sou
  8. it's pretty unusual in the internet age not to at least have a new news item since 2006. granted, you'll probably remember a couple of artists just to prove otherwise, but i mean for the most part. you'd expect at least a;: this is jay, checking in. working on a new album, etc... they were promoting on Myspace a bit when the last album came out with bulletins and invites. they even announced a contest where you could win some of his merchandise but then they never announced any winners or responded to messages asking what happened to the contest.
  9. this is what i was wondering. his website hasn't been updated since 2006! Tape Op had an article/interview on him and his studio a few years back, so i guess that's what he's doing. you'd think he'd still be making music, even if just releasing it himself.
  10. they'll probably wait 40 or 50 years like they do with Dylan and the Dead and most of us will be too old or too deaf to care.
  11. i guess i damned this thread by mentioning PJ... the PJ reference was mainly towards the packaging to keep fan cost lower. i didn't in any way mean they start releasing every show of a tour, ONLY this residency. the main reason being because they're playing their entire catalog - some songs that have never been played, etc. that's a pretty big freaking deal that should be documented - one would think in a commercial way. Wilco has a wide aged fan base (i would think anyway) so there are a lot of older people, people with slower connections, etc and people that live far away from Ch
  12. not an option for me. there is a stream tonight so i assume that is sourced from the soundboard?
  13. In the last 2 or 3 months? I kept getting the e-mails back. Finally I even e-mailed Marhgerita(sp?)s office and someone said they'd forward it to them and if I still didn't hear back, to e-mail them back. Never heard from that either. E-mailed M's office again and got no reply. this was over 2-3 months, not like i just expected the next day. i waited several weeks. My friend also tried to download it around the holidays and was unable to do so.
  14. i tried this a month or so ago and still couldn't access it. when you e-mail the webmaster you just get your e-mail back like the inbox is full. what's really weird is last week i got all the e-mails i sent back again - months after i sent them. no reply or anything, just the originals sent back. has there been any announcement on the site about this?
  15. or put them up as another thing one can access with their official copy of SBS. they already stream whole shows anyway.........why not go (5) steps further?
  16. oh i did not, but not for lack of trying. i knew last time they went on sale at 2 or 3 am cent - which is 8 or so in England - i think they're 6 hours ahead. so i got up around 3am. no tics went to sleep. got up around 5:30 am. no tics went to sleep. another hour or so i checked before leaving for work. no tics. this put me a little behind schedule for getting to work so since i couldn't clock in i went and got some Grandy's. remember to check at 8 and they were already on sale. i keep refreshing seeing that some go up randomly. i get to click on "buy tickets" probably have a dozen times or mo
  17. i wonder this too. for those of us that can't even see one night it would be great. just do it with cheap packaging like Pearl Jam did a few years back. probably have 5 seperate releases for each and then one ultimate box set for the great fan. this is too comprehensive to make a single 2 disc compilation or to even pass up at all!
  18. it didn't quote the long list of what's left: they've played We're Just Friends from Summerteeth?
  19. is it a normal movie ticket price, or higher?
  20. I figured somewhere there would be a topic on Clinic, but my Search came up empty. Clinic's new album comes out in April and on Feb 1st they put up a free single with b-side and artwork. There's also a great video. It's one of their mellow type songs, which always seem to be my favorite. www.clinicvoot.org
  21. i've read and evern seen this album in stores over the years and finally listened to the clips on Amazon - it sounded great! next time i see it, i'll pick it up. i wonder if early Talking Heads was an influence on them? also, i don't know if it's mentioned in reviews for Franz Ferdinand albums, but Television seems to have a huge influence on them. how are the rest of the Television albums? all i ever hear about is Marquee Moon.
  22. cool, thanks. i wonder if all those works are property of Lost Highway (i think that was his label until now)? is he labelless? i remember that being discussed in the Easy Tiger interviews, it's been too long for me to remember.
  23. so Wolfhunter is ryan? what's the update on the box set? wasn't it originally intended for late 2007?
  24. that's interesting that no one really likes Face the Truth. that was the first solo disc i had picked up and i really loved it. then i thought i'd work my way backwards and got Pig Lib and i can't get into it. i've tried several times since i loved FTT so much, but i just can't. what is the price on the pre-order for Trash? i looked around the site and never saw a price.
