  1. forever my surfer girl? was the response positive to the London show last year?
  2. uh-oh. i think Best Buy put IR on sale for $9.99 this week. to answer my own question: EIIRP is now back to about the same length as the studio version.
  3. Hot Topic has a deal ending the 19th where you can buy a Death Cab shirt and the CD for $20. The price tag for the shirt alone is $20, so basically you get the CD for free.
  4. Supergrass was boring to me as well. how do they do EIIRP now that it doesn't end the opening set? they used to walk off one by one with Ed leaving last.
  5. they have this up for stream on aol spinner. i have never been interested in them, but i really dig this album cover for whatever reason. i listened through and i like it. there does seem to be a Wilco Yankee/Ghost influence on a few tracks. i'm going to pick it up this week. band track by track http://www.vh1.com/news/editorial/?page=1&...ntentId=1586764
  6. true. he should have made a 40 min record and then released an ep, but this way he saved us cash, gave us a dvd and cool stickers. this project sounds potentially very good.
  7. i guess the leak forced them to move the date up to June 3rd.
  8. i guess that supposed new song that was soundchecked the other night has not appeared in any recorded form?
  9. a lot of major label deals are for 6 albums...i wonder if this is the last in their contract (or if the rivers demo record counted as well)?
  10. are they still playing EIIRP the same way? it used to be the end of the first set and they'd walk off one by one, but now there are a couple songs after it.
  11. which song on the HTTT tour did thom have a little sampler he pushed and then danced around - backdrifts or the gloaming?
  12. how do the other band members fair singing?
  13. that's promising for this upcoming tour that they're playing some songs they haven't played in a while or at least much since their respective tours i.e;; Myxo/Where/Optimistic. i hope they dig out We suck Young Blood - always wanted to see that live. and i've yet to see Airbag - i've always wanted to see that for Thom's scream during the live version
  14. i'm pleasantly surprised. i'm just glad they got away from either the Yellow formula - where they build on quarter notes (or is it eighth?) or the Clocks formula - which Speed of Sound was. i had trouble with the download, so here is a stream link; http://mog.com/Charley_Rogulewski/blog_post/159077
  15. In Rainbows is too new to rate with the rest of their work but i think it will end up top tier OKC Kid A The Bends HTTT Amnesiac pablo honey even the band has admitted HTTT was bloated and not their A game. granted, i still love it, but you can tell it's not focused, even sonically. they recorded most of it live in a week or two in LA i believe. i don't dislike any of the songs even - it's just way too long. that's why they kept IR the length it is. one of those expensive British import music mags had an IR article where they talked about the IR Disc 2 and why they didn't make the
  16. he didn't specify. i know MPS and HTDC were both from around OKC time. Optimistic is not that far from it. more synth presence and drum machine-esque sounds were already evident, especially on the Airbag EP and i think some of those songs were from OKC - if i remember correctly Pearly, A Reminder, Polyethelene parts 1&2 were all in contention for OKC. i dont' remember for the other 3. i haven't listened to the Airbag EP in a while. i see its now easily found again in stores, so if you don't have it, i suggest you get it.
  17. i loved Mary as well. that first officially released mp3 sounded promising. then i read about the 'epic' sounding long song. i get the two singers names mixed up tell me which is which; which one sounds kinda like bowie and which one sounds kinda like beck i know of all their side projects but have yet to check any of them out. same with New P's and the Bejar stuff
  18. you don't like Kid A? even Jonny didn't realize the big reaction to it, as at least half or if not more could fit within OK Computer. i'm glad to say i will get to see them in Houston. another fan was cool enough to sell me two covered reserved tics at sticker price. now even lawn seats are at least $100 most of the time.
  19. did anyone buy the Cold Son 10"? if i had an indie record store close by i probably would have. i'm wondering how the b-sides are. maybe they'll put them up on that pay now thing. http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news...ecord-store-day
  20. wasn't the 5 night Chicago residency all taped and recorded?
  21. actually they did do that i believe. i burned a cd from a friend that had tracks of both and it was not a mix cd or anything. maybe it was released as a kind of budget cd.
  22. wow, so that's the actual cover? Brian Bell (i think that's the guitarist) looks really different from what i remember. he looks like K Fed with long hair.
  23. yeah, i know that was the length of songs at the time - my point of pointing that out was the case for a CD release. i was fairly content with my 2 CD Gold until i heard Dearest and realized just how much i love his voice, despite the fact that was a cover and a simplistic recording of just him and guitar. now after reading through the great www.buddyhollyonline.com i see that Dearest was one of the songs he demoed in his apartment shortly before he died. as far as i know, Dearest, has never officially been released on CD, but it has been on vinyl. now i wonder, when the Juno people want
  24. I've had the 2 disc Buddy Holly Gold for a while now. Having just seen Juno, I heard "Dearest" for the first time and loved it. I'm looking around the internet and not finding what release this was from. Holly is hard to research as he only released 2 (or 3?) records while he was alive and things kept coming out afterwards. Has there not been a comprehensive box set with all his recordings? If not, this really blows my mind as hardly any of his songs are over 3 minutes so you could probably put everything he recorded on a few discs and it still be cost effective. I guess all the different
  25. he produced Green as well. i remembered that clearly and just confirmed it by looking at the booklet.
