  1. they don't come on until around 2:30
  2. dr pepper is tripping now. since they only said "america" i wonder if they'll be forced to give them to South and Central America as well. =)
  3. now i remember. the main thing i remember about that song are the gang vocals and the ending.
  4. the vinyl bundle is $40 at the Cardinal shop and 17.99 at Music Direct. so basically you pay $20 or so for the shirt and postcards. not too interested in postcards at all. i don't know what i think about the download though. those types of downloads are always lower quality than what you would get on a CD, right? also, is Fix It not available to stream anywhere entirely?
  5. i like Tina. what album is the song you mention from. other bassists: whomever plays the bass on I Love You More Today than Yesterday by Spiral Staircase the guy who played bass on Sunny Day Real Estate's How It Feels album
  6. conan performance: http://www.hulu.com/watch/38007/late-night...t-6-2008?c=2073
  7. the book preorders are all sold out - 1000 copies. he said first copy for Stephen King and last for David Letterman.
  8. i have Bitches Brew, Blue and Silent Way. Love Supreme/Coltrane is great. my fav though may be Mingus - Black Saint and the Sinner Lady i have Zawinul - self-titled, too. that's about the extent of jazz i have. is this the most repackaged album of all time? Pet Sounds is up there, but i think Blue may have it beat.
  9. thanks. i'm trying to remember if the lyrics are gender bias and wonder if he hams it up on it - acts femine or something. there's no opener - do they start the show on time? the OU/UT game is on Sat and i hope it doesn't delay us to the show - 2 hour drive or so.
  10. I was thinking the other day that I bet this song could be a minor country hit if they made a cheesy video and put it on CMT.
  11. does Ryan sing the girl's part on Shakedown or one of the others?
  12. i really like it. my least favorite might be the only song Jenny has no songwriting credit on - Carpetbagger they also might have had Elvis sing an octave lower or something.
  13. dr dog of all people? they're the most Beatle like and that's who Oasis has admittantly tried to copy their entire career. Oasis really jumped the ship of excess on Be Here Now though. i remember reading an article about how that was one of the worst follow up albums of all time. i listened to clips of the last album and remember thinking it may be decent, but i never got around to getting it. Giants didn't impress me at the time. i have no idea of the albums in between. i will say - i really like the artwork for the new album.
  14. i would think he would avoid, Come Pick Me Up, Stars Go Blue and Wonderwall, but that's cool that he's playing them. is he doing them just like his studio versions or have they altered them? the setlists i've seen have been great and i saw pics of their neon rose logos. it should be a very good show. i'm not sure i know Freeway to the Canyon or You Don't See Me Crying.
  15. it didn't seem like anyone had actually purchased the album in any physical form. thanks for answering my question above. those photos reminded me of Pearl Jam's No Code packaging that came with a set of photos. it never occurred to me to think they may have had different combinations in every set. i'll have to look into that.
  16. who has the physical LP or CD copies? i like the clips i've heard. i wanted to order through Newbury for the autograph, but they haven't responded to my e-mail inquiries for several business days. the LP says a "bonus cd" - which may just be the album i'm also seeing scans of 4 photos - different for everyone. i'm guessing these come in the cd package? can anyone confirm for me please cause i really want to buy the record, i'm just not going to buy both versions.
  17. i'm gonna pick this up. nothing i'd heard from them in the past peaked my ears at all, but i streamed the whole record with bonus tracks at fm whatever and i dug it.
  18. here's something i just thought of; do you get a bypass from the usual "sell out" talk any time an indie artist has a song on a commercial if it's a cover tune instead of an original (or if they take your tune and change the lyrics/cover it a la Of Montreal/Outback)?
  19. a snippet of Fix It is up on Foggy. it sounds recorded live in studio a la JCN. the vocals sound live/one take-ish to me anyway.
  20. my tics actually say "cardinals" big and then below it has the ryan adams internet address.
  21. http://www.rollingstone.com/blogs/smokings...ks-football.php Ryan Adams Talks Football September 19, 2008 10:38 AM Photo: Getty Last year we took a vacation to Mexico, and though we had our iPod, the only CD we had was an advance copy of Ryan Adams & the Cardinals' Easy Tiger. Driving around, we played that shit constantly, and decided that -- with cuts like "Goodnight Rose," "Two," "Rip Off" and the heartbreaker, "I Taught Myself How To Grow Old" -- it was the greatest Adams disc ever. On October 28th Adams & the Cardinals will release Cardinology, which they describe as, "
  22. yes. that is a LOT of money to disappear for a few years without someone knowing...
  23. i was looking up his albums on wiki and came across what Courtney Love said about his Rock n' Roll album. did he ever respond to any of that? she said he stole $858k from her (and kurt's) daughter via credit cards and used that to make RnR. http://stereogum.com/archives/wheres-the-b...s-b_011141.html
