i saw an add that advertised it as a double lp with bonus cd. i couldn't find anything on her website, but i wondered if the bonus cd is just the album on cd or actually different 'bonus' songs?

does anyone know who the user "dubstar" is on the RAA board? he seems to be either one of the band members or someone that works with them. he confirms the date and that Tom Schick (who recorded JCN and Cold Roses) produced it, but does not confirm that title. -

any remotely public figure has to deal with this, but i'm not sure not sharing anything is the answer. it kinda means 'they win.' yes, i know, easy for me to say since i'm not a public figure in the least bit. if only he could focus on the positive side - 10's of 1,000's (or 100,000's?) of people have bought his records and attended his shows. -

does he see a psychiatrist regularly? it's always an interesting thing when you have any artist with a lot of fans, but yet they themselves are lonely or self depreciative. of course, they probably feel the fans ONLY like what they do, not the REAL them. -
i don't know what it is, but i love that ascending guitar/organ riff during the chorus.

the arrows to the side of RA setlists - what does this mean? i'm going to guess it means they extend the song some and jam. i was glad to see Cobwebs in the new list. also, oddly, i'd listened to some of his older stuff and the songs he dug out just happened to be the ones that were really sticking to me some - Shakedown and Please Do Not i just thought of something - i guess that whole album of songs he recorded for Elizabethtown will never see light - unless some of those made it to Easy Tiger (and i know at least one was on the ET second soundtrack). -

that's what i was wondering - once a new video is sent can you no longer access the prior ones? i don't really understand the mailbox thing either - why not just put it on Foggy and leave it up permenantly? -
i liked In the New Year from the video i saw on Pitchfork and saw the pretty much unanimous positive reviews, so i picked up the record. they also did Juan's Basement for pitchfork.tv and sonically In the New Year sounds just like the record - i actually wonder if they're not using the same mics and setup as when the recorded the album version. i haven't got to listen to You and Me enough to judge yet. one thing i have noticed - sonically all the songs are very similiar as if they set up the recording studio one way and kept that for every track. this was the first stuff of there's i've

i wonder if it would be advantageous to wait outside the venue - usher works all the ladies up, but there's no men to fulfill that need... i guess kind of the same idea as waiting outside a women's prison for inmates to be released. ha.

was it true that Ryan had the album on his website already? (i remember he had some music on his site that was kind of like a radio station where you could stream music and live concerts).

that was in response to a fan complaining? p.s. thanks so much for the much help on my Nokia question. i ended up checking back later and apparently some tics a lot closer got released back. didn't appreciate TM making a $35 end up being somewhere around $48 though! that's insanity! -
the TMZ television show had a report on it last night and played some audio from it.

anyone seen any shows at in the Nokia Theatre in Grand Prarie? since i haven't bought tics, i'm wondering if the balcony is still a decent way to go (which is what will probably be left by the time my friend makes up his mind). that setlist looks pretty great. p.s. i wonder why they stopped updating this website - http://answeringbell.com/ it was pretty informative. -

when did the Dallas tics go on sale - i don't remember seeing those before? is there a better way than Ticketmaster to get them? -

werewolphf sounds like Cutting Crew ha -
if that's meant for me - i have no idea. the only way to really know is if they talk about it in an interview.

What do you feel he's trying to express in that verse?
-
it's most like something you'd hear on a 70's Beach Boys record (for some reason i think of Take Good Care of Your Feet though they don't sound alike). the Beatles and Wilco both have 'kiddie' lyrics in their songs at times, too. i like how they bend the word "part" over about 80 syllables and notes.

what is so bad about it?

love From. has anyone found the exclusive 7" tracks on a blog any where?
-
good. i still haven't downloaded all the tracks (slow connection). do any of you have any of his other stuff? i've known about him since he was putting out 7"'s on Velvet Blue Music. if you see any of those, pick them up. they're different versions than what ended up on Dressed Up for the Letdown and there are some great b-sides.

then you also probably missed his double EP Swift as Onasis, too. i didn't understand why he made it a double ep - which i've never heard of being done before. each EP was around 20 mins, so it would not even take up half a disc. i think one is a little more lo-fi, so it's possibly maybe the were done at different times periods. there are only a handful of the tracks with vocals actually, just instrumentals, etc. of course, i would recommend someone to get his actual albums before getting Onasis.

the whole album is (or at least it was last week) up for stream on his website. i wasn't too impressed the first or so listens, but now i really dig it. i loved the humor of Hospital first, but now i seem to be loving Danny Callahan and the line, "victory's sweet even deep in the cheap seats" from the opening track. has he talked in an interview about Souled Out!!! it almost sounds like someone walked in while they were tracking and they left it in. then it sounds like they were talking while recording the backing track and instead of taking it out like usual, they decided to leave it in.
