  1. i wanted to try and listen to clips on Amazon but i couldn't find it.
  2. i don't have the ad with me, but i believe the Best Buy paper said the soundtrack was exclusive to their store (as far as physically i guess) and $9.99. i imagine that price would go up next Sunday.
  3. if you have a record player you can find the vinyl fairly cheap on eBay. i did about a year ago - got both his self-titled and the follow up, Mirror. Mirror has some great tracks, too. i haven't tried to buy his third and last album yet, but i need to. anyone heard it? his wiki entry has a link to a fairly recent interview and i don't know what to think really. it's crazy to think that there is potentially 30 years of great pop music sitting in a garage somewhere.
  4. are you sure they won't make you buy the entire thing?
  5. who is going to buy the soundtrack and put the wilco track up here?
  6. Wincing may have a lot of home recording too, i didn't read up on it as much. Spoon, at least the early records, were recorded by themselves. I actually came across my Tape Op with their interview around Girls Don't Tell time. oh yeah.... Emitt Rhodes aka the one man Beatles recorded his records by himself in his parents' garage.
  7. i thought Pink Moon was recorded in a studio - seems i've read a story about those sessions somewhere. i think even the second Shins record was mostly recorded at home, just mainly the drums were recorded elsewhere. Of Montreal's last few records have mostly been Kevin Barnes by himself at home.
  8. this doesn't go to anything Wilco. it just goes to the general news page which already has SBSW stuff on it. what was it supposed to be?
  9. you hear Salinger and Mangum, but no Emmitt Rhodes?
  10. i wrote the record co and they said they plan to rerelease the album bundled with a dvd of the film when it's finished, forecast for fall.
  11. it looks like Major Organ is OOP? and i heard something about a film under that name rumored to be made...
  12. after looking up other stuff i came across Major Organ and the Adding Machine pitchfork tore it a new one when it came out. the clips on Amazon sound very promising. and for whatever reason, i never got Avery Island. i had Aeroplane and Avery got little mention, so i figured it was very embrionic in comparison, but those clips sounded quite good as well. there's Jittery Joe's, too. what's the feeling on these 3 releases?
  13. i didn't remember REM asking him to open for them. has anyone bought the field recording record? (oddly enough, i just saw the article writer on tv they other day talking about his Starbucked book)
  14. i must have missed the original reply. since then i've listened to Pig Lib more and i dig it more now. FAce the Truth is still the 'jam' though. i think i will do the preorder. are the extra downloads then up forever or do you have a limited time* in which you can download? i have to go to my parents' work to have access to fast internet. *the buy early get now website seems to mention something about '90 days.'
  15. was this never posted at wilcoworld or the e-mail list? i just never remember any of this.
  16. so what exactly happened? someone asked Jeff to write a song for a movie. then he did and they had someone else record a version of it. then later he changed the song's title and put it on SBS?
  17. it was the same chords/melody with different lyrics? (i'm confused)
  18. i still ain't got none... if anyone know of any extra dallas or houston tickets i would like to know very much so.
  19. now they have a preview of the next single and b-side. the b-side sounds like it may be a new favorite of mine of their's.
  20. thanks. that's not in the lyrics either, so i wonder where that title comes from (unless i'm forgetting the lyrics).
  21. "Lullaby For Rafter and Beams" this is an old title for a SBS song isn't it? i forget which one.
  22. has Wilco not been on SNL in the past? i seem to remember Wynona Ryder wearing a Wilco t-shirt once when introducing a band.
  23. huh? i don't mean the 'cowbell' skit. i didn't think about the ferrell/walken combination that could be interpretted. i meant that one time Ferrell played shaker with Weezer on Island in the Sun (i believe yes?). so i meant Walken could play something on Walken and then while he was there he could do that skit he's reprised several times.
  24. Walken... with a Christopher Walken guest appearance. he comes out and does something like Ferrell did with Weezer, then afterwards he does that famous skit he does with the first person perspective camera - i can't remember the character name. someone has to know what i'm talking about. it's like he's trying to seduce a lady played by the eye of the camera.
  25. ok. for anyone who searches for this in the future, all the tracks on the DVD will fit on an 80 minute CD, but the 2 exclusive downloads will have to be put on another disc. i'll put it on my SBS bonus ep whenever it gets put back up on the website........maybe hunt down my AGIB and Moon eps as well and see if they'll all fit.
