I recently learned of these DVDs and instantly ordered the Chicago version b/c Wilco was on it. Other than their preformance of "Muzzle of Bees," which was incredible, the other performances showed some good musicianship, but weak vocals IMO. What a great and novel idea, though. I really like this series and would like to see the others. I know one just came out like last week... Those of you who have seen the others, what do you think? Are they worth watching?

Here is a question to all you Wilco "old timers" (but first some background): I was listening to the AGIB Tour EP live tracks the other day (which, when I first got them totally rocked), and they sounded just, I don't know, flat and like something was missing. I chalked that "something missing" up to Nels Cline. I'm pretty sure he didn't play on the Tour EP; if he did, it was pretty damn subdued. It will be a bit of an afteschool roadtrip for me. Luckily, I gain an hour going down. Boy that next day at work will be an experience though. Just found out you can only skip a few songs (4 or 5) songs per hour, so go easy on the skipping.

Has anybody else checked this out yet? Just go to this site and type in your favorite band or song (obviously Wilco or a Wilco song) and then "teach" the program waht you like by rating it. You'll listen to streaming audio that sounds pretty good (I've listened to piss-poor streamed audio before and this is a welcome change), and then rate it thumbs up or down. Based on what you decide, it will queue up another song based on your prefs. I'm having fun with it, hope you all can enjoy it too. I've just unearthed a new (for me) band from down under called Augie March. I'm really diggin' their Strage Bird album...I've yet to get my paws on anything else of theirs. For those curious enough, you should check 'em out. If you know 'em already, good for you.

I'd like to hear people's take on some songs. I know Tweedy has stated that music is very personal to the listener, so, obviously your own interpretation is unique and everybody doesn't have to agree/like it. I'd like to hear 'em. Any song, any album, etc. I'll start. My take on ALTWYS is that the couple is going through a rough patch (purple black eye) about something. This is an interesting thread to me because I was just divulging some of this info to my buddies the other day on a road trip to the beach. I enjoyed the book. I felt that Kot's writing wasn't the best; yeah, maybe he could've used an editor. Dramatized? Sure, a little. Interesting? Damn straight. I echo an earlier poster's sentiment: I want to know the current dynamic with the addition of Pat and Nels, the departure of Leroy and the recording process of AGIB. I would recommend it to any Wilco fan.

There are two other tracks that you can download if you put your cd into your computer's drive, "Panthers," and "Kicking Television." I think that maybe you can download the live versions of three other songs that way as well (ALTWYS, Handshake and Late Greats), but that may just be iTunes. Speaking of iTunes, if you don't have the commercial cd, you may just download those five tracks from there, 'course you'll have to pay for 'em...
