Wow...lucky kiddos to get New Madrid. -
I'll be there. Section 1, row F, John and Pat's side

let's face it: a weak Wilco album (and I still wouldn't call SBS weak) is still a lot better than a lot of the junk out there these days

Evangelista's Hello, Voyager is the best album I've heard in a long time

I may end up with an extra pair, but I'm not 100% sure yet. I'll post as soon as I know for sure.

so Ray Lamontagne is coming to Chicago...
Three dollars and 63 cents replied to fineartoflife's topic in Someone Else's Song
I like Ray LaMontagne a lot, and while I'd definitely try to see him if I had the chance, I can't say I'd be willing to pay $40 to see him. For some reason, I'm also really surprised to see he's playing at the Ryman. He just doesn't seem that popular. I've been wrong before, though. I have quite a few live recordings of his, and he sounds pretty intense live. I'm sure it will be a great show. His new album comes out this fall, doesn't it? October, I think? -
The latest Ryan Adams thread
Three dollars and 63 cents replied to Duck-Billed Catechist's topic in Someone Else's Song
The presale for the New York shows is tomorrow. I'm going to go to the Syracuse show. The first time I saw him he was great, and the second time I saw him he was awful, so I'm giving him one last chance. Hopefully he won't disappoint. -
dylan @ the electric factory!
Three dollars and 63 cents replied to nettles's topic in Someone Else's Song
The Electric Factory? Seriously? All the great venues in Philly and they put Dylan at the shittiest one? That place is a cinderblock shoe box. I saw Ryan Adams there a few years back and vowed I'd never see another show there. The Tower would've been a much better venue for him, or even the Mann Center. I've got a sixth row seat for his 8/19 show in the middle of nowhere, about halfway between my town and Rochester. It will be my last show of the summer and the closest I've ever been for Dylan outside, so I'm really looking forward to it. I agree his voice isn't that great anymore, but his -
That's cool that they show the requests now. The thing is, it's not always the most requested ones that they choose. Jeff usually tries to pick a few that only one or two people have requested, too. I already requested Radio Cure, but I hope they play it for you

YHF remastered out on June 23 ...!
Three dollars and 63 cents replied to samuel70's topic in Just A Fan
I need to pick up a copy of this. I'm still at least a few years away from buying a house and finally being able to put together a good sound system, but I want to have it for when I do. I was in a store that has a pretty good selection of vinyl yesterday, but they didn't have it. I'll have to keep looking. -

Welcome, Little Sooie! -
That's the spirit.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll probably go out for sushi before the show. This is going to be my first time in Delaware in years. I'm glad it worked out that I can make the trip!

I was just coming over here to post about the Autumn Defense. I'm not sure there will be any more UK dates unfortunately. Nels has a handful of shows in California in September up on his website already, and I know he's playing the Jazzmaster 50th anniversary show in New York September 12th, too, so I'm not sure when there would be time.

For some reason, I find this completely hilarious I'm glad you got the chance to go home for a Wilco show at long last, and that you got to meet Nels. Isn't he the nicest guy? -

Amazing set list! Nice to see Either Way and Summerteeth, and that second encore must've been amazing. It's also great that they're road testing some new songs. I asked Nels about that last week, and he said he wasn't sure it was going to happen, but if Jeff wanted to play any of the new songs they've already worked on, he'd be ready. Let's hope they keep it up! -

Wilco venues: small or large?
Three dollars and 63 cents replied to fineartoflife's topic in Just A Fan
I was just talking about that version of Spiders the other day and how freaking awesome it was, especially since so many people were throwing glow sticks around. -
Wilco venues: small or large?
Three dollars and 63 cents replied to fineartoflife's topic in Just A Fan
I don't think I've ever seen Wilco in a venue that holds more than 2,000 people. I'm pretty sure the Wilmington show will be the smallest, not counting places where I've seen Nels. I hope Tanglewood is the biggest place where I see them. -
George Bush belongs to VC?

I'll have free reign over a friend's townhouse just outside of Northampton around this time, since he'll be out of town. It's about an hour away from Tanglewood, but there's plenty of room if anyone needs a place to crash.

Good to hear. Hopefully we can meet up
