  1. I saw an ad on last.fm today about AT&T's Blue Room doing a webcast. They did the Lollapalooza one, too, didn't they? Anyway, I'm hoping this means the band's set might be webcast
  2. Yay, it came! I was worried addressing it to Noodle might have confused the post office. Those pictures are wonderful! I'm glad everyone is enjoying their goodies. Please tell Buzz I send his apologies, since his name isn't Baxter
  3. The 33 1/3 series is possibly going to have an open submission period for proposals sometime this fall. I'm a writer, so if they do, I'll be writing a proposal for a book about a Wilco album. I'm not sure which one yet, though.
  4. I thought it was kind of lame that the Tanglewood t-shirt was like the St. Louis t-shirts, only black. And with the venue name spelled right The crowd around the merchandise tent was insane, so after I saw the poster and decided I didn't like it that much, I didn't bother waiting around. I bought a t-shirt and a CD from Andrew Bird's tent instead. I know I can always order a shirt or vinyl later from the Wilcoworld store.
  5. I was sixth row center and didn't have any major complaints with the sound. My friends were on Nels's side about another five rows back and didn't say anything, either. Nels seemed a little too quiet in the mix except during his solos, but that seems to be a nagging problem on this leg. I imagine this must have been a difficult venue for the sound crew, given that it's not designed acoustically for rock shows, and it's a much bigger place than they usually play. The lawn section is huge. Andrew Bird was still doing his sound check when the gates opened, so Wilco might've encountered problems d
  6. Good pictures, but holy lack of editing in that article, Batman. The writing is so jumbled and unclear. That first paragraph alone has six comma errors, and the rest of it is just as confusing because of errors. Sorry--you can tell I'm gearing up for the start of the school year. I'd like to take my red pen to this one.
  7. I really enjoyed his set Tuesday with the band, but he told me that the show I'm seeing in the fall is part of a solo tour. I'm interested to see how different it will be.
  8. Wow, Jeff has worn the green jacket three out of the last four shows.
  9. Last night was wonderful--a great show, but I enjoyed the VC family reunion almost as much. I'd love to see them make this an annual event, and considering how well tickets sold, I think it could be possible. It was very likely my last Wilco show for the year, and I can't think of a better way to end. Either Way really got me choked up, because it made me think back to hearing it live for the first time last summer and how much a lot of things in my life have changed and how lucky I've been to get to travel so much and see so many shows and make so many cool new friends. My pictures are here
  10. I just uploaded my pictures from Sunday. I got a lot of pretty good full-band or almost full-band shots. They're here.
  11. I had a hellish drive down there--it was supposed to take four hours and took five and a half because of the weather. My car got all dinged up from hail. That part sucked, but the show was definitely worth it. They were loose and relaxed, and it was sort of fun seeing them screw up. Jeff got distracted during Radio Cure because people started clapping. I was glad I was on the "cool" side, where people were standing and having a good time. The crowd down front had a good vibe--nobody seemed pushy, and people were able to move down front without blocking anyone's view or causing enough of a r
  12. I'll be in a black shirt with silver stripes, jeans, and silver shoes tonight. Come say hi if you see me. I'm hitting the road now!
  13. it's that place somebody mentioned on the previous page. I checked out their website, and it looks like it could be very good, though maybe a little pricey. I may change my mind and go for pub grub, depending on what I'm in the mood for by the time I get down there. It's hard to believe the show is finally tomorrow!
  14. Downtown Wilmington appears to be a dead zone from what I've seen online. I'm thinking I'll probably go have sushi if I get down there early enough. I was thinking about staying down there tomorrow night, but the nearby hotels are all pretty expensive, so I think I'm going to drive for an hour or two toward Massachusetts after the show and stop along the way.
  15. It's great to see Radio Cure in the set list. I told Nels last time I saw him that I really want to hear it in Wilmington, so hopefully they were practicing it for tomorrow!
  16. My guess is the TPs will be with them up to the Brooklyn show. I really hope so, because I'd love the chance to see them.
  17. I've got four hours to Wilmington Sunday, then five hours from Wilmington to Northampton (which I'll probably break up over Sunday night and Monday), then an hour to Tanglewood Tuesday and about three and a half hours home on Wednesday. I'm getting good at long road trips, but I'm also pretty glad this is going to be one of my last ones for the summer. I've put over 7000 miles on my car this summer, all but probably 1000 of which were to see Wilco or Nels play. Raspberry Jam, I was actually thinking of the beer selection at the new(ish) Big Y. I don't really care for the brewery's beer. I pr
  18. I don't really care. I'm already gearing up for football season, since football is the only sport I get excited about. I'll probably end up watching a few events since I'm sure the Olympics will dominate programming for the next few weeks, but I'm not going to set my DVR or anything. I do like watching swimming--I had some friends in college who swam competitively--so I might watch that. So where are we meeting for drinks? I bet I can earn at least a bronze in the "who can run up the biggest tab during the Olympics" competition (women's).
  19. I've had a lot of good times with Robin this summer, so I'm just going to nod and smile, even though I'm not sure which trip you're talking about I'm a bit of a foodie, and I'm driving up to my friend's place in Northampton from Wilmington. I'm planning to spend part of Monday cooking up some good things to bring along. I also know where in Northampton to pick up some good beer!
  20. I agree with this. There are so many songs in Wilco's catalog, and they can play pretty much any of them thanks to the Residency show. I don't think they're done doing covers, but they don't need to play one simply as a novelty. Why play someone else's song when you can play Someone Else's Song?
  21. I wish they were opening the gates a little earlier. I'm meeting some friends. We all have seats, but we're going to hang out in the back in the grass until Andrew Bird's set. No food or drinks in the shed, though? I've never been in there, so I don't know how it usually works.
