I know there are still a few Bloodshot fans around here. Now turning 15 Bloodshot is having events all over the US. Starting with Madison, Wisconsinand moving to Minn, Philly, Austin, Boston and a bunch of other places including the Hideout on September 12, 2009. Should be fun times in the various cities. Check it out and not expensive. LouieB

No, she was weird though, sitting on the floor and stareing at Tweedy when she did stand up. That one had a Univ of Chicago sweat shirt on. This was a night or so before that. She was literally a kid with her BF and had probably never been to a show before. I had to get a security guy involved. It was totally stupid. The show hadn't even gotten close to beginning and people were just standing around for the long wait and she pushed right up against me and wouldn't move, long long before anyone hit the stage. Weird weird shit goes on at rock concerts which is why most older folks stay aw

I wish I had a dime for every time this was discussed here over the years. When venues went to GA and more specifically, no chairs, they opened the door for all kinds of bad behavior that will never change. As long as folks think they can do whatever they want and not give a shit about anyone else in the audience, we will get these kinds of complaints. (My two favorite stories both involve young women, one who burned me with a cigarette twice at Summerfest and the other who pushed right up against me prior to one of the Residency shows because she couldn't see; this was long before the s

Civilians would be hard to top. It sounds like he is using this as a platform for his kid. LouieB

Actually you can see both of them in concert, just not the real people. Pop for some CSO tickets next year, I am sure they will play some of both. LouieB

I hope you realize that was a joke... LouieB

Is the board not as active as it once was?
LouieB replied to Tweedling's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
You need to get that too. I like talking about other music. I like Wilco though too. LouieB -
Did I say this?? I saw few groups, but those that I saw ranged from fun to less than fun. For one thing I think I can no longer tolerate the crowds, so I ventured out to see people less often and spent more time selling records. I enjoyed Flaming Lips well enough, not having seen them ever. What's with Wayne running off at the mouth and wasting time? The guy has no idea how to pace a show even after all these years. Mostly it was empty spectical, but what a spectical it was. The songs were good and it was fun to see them. Picked up some confetti to keep. Grizley Bear (called Grizl

I had a first generation nano which I was very fond of (black, square case) and used a moderate amount. The circular thingy stopped working several months ago and I have not replaced it, but I intend to buy another nano, which will have plenty of room for me, when I get a chance. Even nanos have a huge number of songs on them and I am not interested in other stuff except podcasts LouieB

I'll take your ticket. LouieB

Looking For A Good Record Player Set Up
LouieB replied to replacements75's topic in Someone Else's Song
Thanks A-man...this is going to keep coming up until the big vinyl resurgence dies down in a few years. I have been selling LPs at Pitchfork this weekend, a very fun thing to do, meeting lots of interesting people; and while we have done pretty well I think (not my stash of LPs although I put a few in) I think already the frenzy has died down. People were still buying, but more were looking. Actually even I am amazed how much is being licensed and re-issued on vinyl. Lots of albums that are still readily available used on the original labels are now being sold new. I sure hope these comp -
I guess we will all know the truth by tomorrow, but I don't see why you doubt either the Auditorium or the Aragon or any other large venue, maybe short of the United Center. Considering the last residency was at the Riv, a fairly large venue even compared to the Vic, how could Wilco ever go back to any of the smaller residencies in this town?? edit- I understand that the Aragon is much nicer than it used to be, that the owners have actually fixed the old place up. This is a good thing, to be sure. LouieB

Well maybe we will get the Auditorium or the Chicago Theater, or maybe they will reopon the Uptown just for Wilco. LouieB
-
Wow, this place has changed...not a single thread about Pitchfork. Wear a jacket if you go tomorrow, it was downright cold last night. And come look for me at the record tent. Also no talk about the demise (or not) of Thax Douglas. LouieB

Don't be bummed out. The Aragon is a wonderfully historic place. A couple generations ago many a couple met and fell in love there dancing to the music of the big bands in this faux Spanish building, but the years have not been kind to the place, because the upkeep was high and the owners figured that as long as you could book in Latin bands and heavy metal shows, you really didn't have to put much money into it. It has a wonderful wooden dance floor, that is pock marked by millions of cigarette butts. I saw Elvis Costello there during the Armed Forces tour and remember seeing one of the

Yea, I was mostly kidding. But frankly I do think they could put a pretty good dent in Wrigley. Wherever they end up this time around, it isn't going to be the size of either Lounge Ax or Metro. Incidently, go to the rail on Metro (whomever was discussing this....)The sound is not as good, you will have better sound by the soundbooth, but all the action will be up front. LouieB

At this point in their careers Wilco CAN fill Wrigley, United Center or any other large venue. I doubt it will be any of the giant places, but I see no reason that they couldn't compete in that market. LouieB
