  1. I listen to all kinds of terestrial radio all the time, including AM and college stations (college alot). I have heard satillite and may make the jump now that they have merged. (or I may not...) LouieB
  2. Okay so this is semi-self-serving, but check out the new vid from GloNo and WhiskeyBender. It is short but gives a nice overview of Chris Mills' new album and his somewhat recent performance at Schubas. John Boston just keeps getting better and better at this stuff and everyone should want a vid by him as far as I am concerned. Not to mention Chris Mills' new album is short, tuneful, and a great deal of fun to listen to. Chris has developed a great lyric sense and his songs change it up quite a bit over the course of the album. Funny cool graphics on the packaging too. LouieB
  3. The new album is quite good.....not much else to say... LouieB
  4. I could use a place to crash after the show, but it should be west rather than east. I am driving on to Cleveland the next day. I may crash in Albany. LouieB
  5. I thought we fought the Civil War a few years back to avoid sessesion... LouieB
  6. Holy domestic violence Batman.... LouieB
  7. There will be a club date in the near future I am sure. P4k was simply not a good place for this sort of act LouieB
  8. I mentioned this in the p4k thread; the entire thing translated badly even at the small stage. It was crowded, noisy, the other stage was bleeding over to the small one and it was totally unimpressive. Time for a club date. LouieB
  9. Screw this talk of what Tanglewood is or isn't, who's going.....I am..... LouieB
  10. Particularly the part about the bathrooms.... LouieB
  11. Not unless you like seeing the tops of people's heads. The balcony is more appropriate for other activity actually. The weird part about the Subteranian is that it is on the second and third floor. LouieB
  12. I agree, or did I say that....well actually seeing Public Enemy was probably the highlight of the weekend, but of the indie groups he was my favorite, although (also repeating myself), Dino Jr won me over..... Yea I gave her Janet for $5. She was very pleased. But the guy who bought the Nico and VU was very pleased, as was the couple who realized later they were getting 4 singles for $2 in the grab bags and came back for several more at the very end. We sold so much good stuff I sure hope we can find more for the next Pulaski Field house sale in the winter. Carter is pretty good at findi
  13. That is hardly going to pay the rent.... I'll give $11..... LouieB
  14. Gotta go to work, but what an exhausting weekend. Sunday seemed less crowded than Saturday, not sure why. I caught a handful of acts and sold a bunch of LPs and had a good enough time I guess. I would have to say that both M. Ward and Dinosaur Jr. put on good sets, both sticking to tried and true and delivering on both, including lots of good songs and musicianship. I saw some of King Khan, who was entertaining enough, but I wish I had seen him in a club rather than in a huge crowd outside. I don't think his raunchy soul act, which I am sure would have been very entertaining in a club w
  15. Just put it on eBay and don't tell us about it if you don't want us to comment. This is a drumstick already. If you are going to be that interested in the value of the thing, find out if anyone wants it, but here you will only get dumped on. Really this is kinda stupid and the thread should be closed. LouieB
  16. Hey stop and introduce yourself. I am easy to find. Yea, what was that with the FF long pauses between songs?? I suspect they maybe just have never played in front of this many people before. I think they were intimidated. They also should have turned down the reverb a bit; I think they were going for a MMJ vibe perhaps. Actually did not see Jarvis Cocker, but what I heard was really good. He was doing just regular old rock/singersongwriter, change it up every once in awhile stuff and it sounded good. Sorry I didn't actually go out and check him out, because I think he had something g
  17. I saw WaronWar.... I have to admit I didn't see all that much and what I did was underwhelming. I was having a ball selling records and sold a copy of Beggar's Banquet to Jim Becker of Califone at the end of the night (who I thought was Tim Rutilli at first, silly me...) I would say that about 2/3 of the folks at Pitchfork were from out of town and I don't mean the suburbs, but literally out of town. I sold a bunch of Joni Mitchell records to a woman from Denmark on Friday. Now to the acts I did see part of. Fleet Foxes are a cross between Crosby Stills and Nash and the Beach Boys
  18. Me either.... If this guy is willing to sell a momento that is really only worth something to the person who received it in the first place (do people really pay big money for stuff that is signed by people who are alive and can still sign stuff...I guess I just don't understand that...) he must be plenty jaded in the true sense of the word. Rather than sell what will fetch at most a couple hundred dollars (is Glenn THAT famous??) perhaps he should just go get a job. LouieB
  19. How about just opening the loft once a week?? Hey this is still summer in Chicago (I promises to be 90 here today too) and the residency was in February. A bit early to be planning that far ahead. (Stock up on warm clothes and sleeping bags. LouieB
  20. Let's go..I haven't seen Ike in years...October 24 is a Friday. How do you get tickets? LouieB
  21. More rain.... Saw Public Enemy...most of them...had a good time. LouieB
  22. Don't be so hard on yourself. You are entitled to do whatever you want and need to do. LouieB
