HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! LouieB
-
Sadly it is on a Tuesday. I will catch her at the Hideout. LouieB

This one is free, features a wide range of jazz type artists, and caters to the young and old. Also this is the best line-up in many years. Check it out. In addition to the evening and day performances there is a childrens stage too. For some reason AACM type groups are prominently featured. Not sure why. LouieB Millennium Park

Cool stuff. 78s are still relatively easy to find, but the good ones are harder to get. LouieB

I have some of the regular SY albums with him and also his work prior to that. Some is very far out and pretty good. Gastr del Soul has its moments. Some of the other solo stuff I have heard (including Insignificance) is okay. I guess I am just not that fond of his "songs" and his singing. LouieB

Considering that Jeff wrote the music would sort of eliminate Mermaid Ave from cover status. I too would like to see a cover or two on occasion. They are very fun. (The other night we suggested Truckin' as a cover for them.) LouieB

Having been warned not to listen to this in my car, I have not yet heard it. LouieB

Actually I heard about this as I left Cleveland today on WRUW. It did cross my mind to catch this, particularly with Big Sand opening. I saw Neko at the Beachland a few years back with the Sadies and it was quite the show... LouieB

Top 25 Live Rock Albums of All-Time
LouieB replied to CortezTheKiller's topic in Someone Else's Song
Absolutely.... It sure is, but it is a blues album, not a rock album. LouieB -
She will be appearing at the Hideout Block Party both with the New Pornos and with her group. Can't wait. LouieB

"...get me out of TLA...." I understood he bought a theater in Rantoul as well. He wonders why TLA never made it? How about giving a listen to the albums they DID make.... LouieB

I thought his set on Tuesday was great, but I am biased.... LouieB

Cool stuff... LouieB

True indeed. Amazing/ As for the sound, it was not the best but it wasn't that bad. (You want bad...check out the Rave in Milwaukee...that was the worst ever...) A funny thing happened as I was coming home today. I passed the Loft just as a tour bus was leaving and left off a bunch of the crew (I think). It looked like the end of a field trip at school. Is this the end of a leg of the tour?? LouieB

Happy Birthday!!! Sorry I didn't get to say so in person, but I am not sure if you were at Tanglewood or not. LouieB

Not really time to read everything but bbop's post. Great show I thought. Great venue, but definitely a step up and out from the Pines. We may never see the Pines again, since Tanglewood was mobbed. I loved Andrew Bird's opening set although I was disappointed that he didn't play with Wilco. However that was more than made up for by the Total Pros turning Wilco into a big band for much of the night. I asked Dave Max about it afterwards and he told me that he had written additional charts for the section. Needless to say it was very cool. Good setlist although it would have been nice to h

Damn..he was young too.... We used to listen to Hot Buttered Soul all the time when I was in college. LouieB

With a name like Spiritualized it should do just the opposite.... LouieB

Alejandro has never disappointed me yet. I hope it is okay to listen to in the car since I am told Bon Iver is not. LouieB

Nah, I am a melllow guy...unless someone cuts me off or drives like a dick.... Okay then I guess I won't listen to it in the car... LouieB
-
Do you believe in Magic??? Yea, I suppose it could be... LouieB
-
I plan to listen to it in the car in the next couple days...is that okay??? LouieB
-
I could get interested in this, despite having lost interest in Bruce in recent years (I just bought a used copy of Magic but have not yet listened to it.) LouieB

I am not sure how anyone hasn't heard lots and lots of SD at this point, considering they are classic rock fodder. I have always liked SD, but not ever been crazy about them. I like their albums and I do like Nightfly. However there is one Steely Dan song I can play over and over again and never get tired of.... BARRYTOWN I'm not one to look behind I know that times must change But over there in Barrytown they do things very strange And though you're not my enemy I like things like they used to be And though you'd like some company I'm standing by myself Go play with someone else I
