See both, but I only have tickets to night #2. During the first run at the Auditorium, I thought the first night sounded better, but the second night was longer. LouieB

There is so much talk about how great vinyl records are and let's be honest, Rod sold a ton of albums in his heyday on Mercury, so don't bother with the CD set and go seek out the original releases. They can't be that hard to find. LouieB

Hey friends and VC neighbors. How about a trek to see Von Freeman at the New Apartment on the 26th of December. I have made this mid-holiday week gig a few times and it is usually a really good time, with a larger crowd than usual and lots of singers and crazy stuff going on. Anyone interested? LouieB

Well at least someone read this to find my major gaffe. You are correct. I have no idea what I was thinking (or do you....???) Considering I get on the el at Lawrence nearly every day of my life, I have no idea why I made that mistake. Oh yes and Greektown is always worth the ride. LouieB

Damn, that is small even for the Park West. Lately so much has been going on in Chicago that small shows have abounded. (Not for the hot acts though....but then Gob Iron and Jay Farrar are hardly hot.)

Rest rooms for both are in the basement. Neither are close to the front of the theater. Oh I forgot, there is a bathroom in the balcony at the Vic. Both the Riv and the Vic are old theaters, one is just bigger than the other (the riv is bigger and slightly grungier.) LouieB
