  1. CD Baby is a fine website. They sell and distribute whatever the artist (s) want them to sell and distribute. I suspect the CDR was exactly what the artist supplied them with. I have ordered from them many times and my main complaint is not what I ordered, but often they send additional CDs from artists they are getting rid of their crap, so sometimes you get stuff you don't want in addition to stuff you do. Otherwise I don't think it is a bad service at all. In fact they distribute CDs by artists that you can't get through any other place. LouieB
  2. That makes more sense....I wasn't going to check your info out. Either way....doesn't matter. LouieB
  3. I did not know that.....you learn something new every day. I recently got an LP copy (for a buck) of Conquestidor and I have to admit, I am not a big fan of this type of jazz, but the guy should could play and he gave lots of young musicians their start. He also managed to keep big band type music in the charts far longer than any of his contemporaries. LouieB
  4. I guess we should give a moment of silence to Maynard Ferguson who passed away recently. LouieB
  5. What a great night and all for free. Fred played like a man half his age. The trio brought a little bit of the Velvet Lounge to the park as all three were fantastic as usual. Vandermark and his 13 piece band were also magnificant. Luckily the performance will be put out on an Okkadisk CD in the spring as the first recording made in Millenium Park. LouieB
  6. Just rewatch the footage over and over and enjoy the fact that some of the filming was done by VCers..... LouieB

  11. Ken Vandermark is reconviening his Territory Band tonight at the Pritzger Pavillion here in Chicago (this is version 6) along with the Fred Anderson Trio (Harrisson Bankhead on Bass and Hamid Drake on Drums). This is a free show and the last of a series for the summer and a great opportunity to see the best of the Velvet Lounge musicians and the northside Chicago Improvisors (with some Europeans) at the new bandshell for free. If anyone is interested, I am going and PM me. LouieB
  12. Well if you buy two, you can get a free set by selling the extra for double..... (Wonder if Laurie's is handling this???) LouieB
  13. How much is that green and yellow vinyl thing going for and is it both mixes or is it other stuff too? LouieB

  17. I am assuming this is a joke. How can you hate Pet Sounds? LouieB
  18. It wasn't the guest stars that messed this show up. I suppose there is no way to keep all the dynamics the same throughout the show, but the kind of tensions and situations that were the funniest were in the first couple years and after the marriage and braff moved out, it lost some tension. Cox's baby helped dull the edge too. FYI... Seinfield had similar problems, but it actually IS the best sitcom ever. Scrubs at its best was brilliant and far better than hardly anything else that was on during its run. In fact it kept the sitcom going when it was about to die out. My Name is Earl
  19. I was there I think..... My vote...Mike... LouieB
  20. I am not sure he is talking about LPs as opposed to CDs. I think he is talking about shit music and shit production. LouieB
