  1. Yea, but Mitt is probably working on the WWII, Korean, and Vietnam models. Crank up the draft, get the kids off the street, sell war bonds, etc. LouieB
  2. That will get the economy moving. LouieB
  3. I am going to guess that if you couldn't get a picture in Missoula Mt, which is a fairl small town, you won't get one at a large venue in Rochester either. In the past five years Wilco has become a much bigger act than it was back in the 2000s. Every night Wilco puts it all out there and it seems like the eastern leg of this tour is particularly grueling, so they may want to just chill after the show. It is also a pretty good haul from Rochester to Columbus Ohio the next day. Do the stage door thing and good luck though. (We don't see the band members that much around Chicago anymore
  4. In all the Wes Anderson movies either the people are jerks or the style is sort of cool to cold. The wonderful thing about MK is that all the characters had some redeeming characteristics and you really cared about the two kids. I have never seen Darjeerling, although I have this vague notion I have seen Bottlerocket (yea I think I have so Darjeerling is the one I havent seen) so I would suggest Bottlerocket, but as I recall the characters in that are kind of jerks too. 5. I saw "Moonlight Kingdom" this weekend and found it delightful. I have not seen all the films on the list but of those I have seen nearly all left me cold. This one threated to do the same, but actually came through. The story was compelling the acting great and the quirky style worked just fine. I couldn't watch the entire Life Aquatic, despite liking Bill Murray alot. The Royal Tennanbaums was one I also liked a great deal. I fell asleep during parts of Mr. Fox. LouieB
  6. They didn't have autotune in those days. LouieB
  7. If you can find him he will take his picture with you. LouieB
  8. I am particularly getting drug about the out of context stuff, which includes Mitt's comments about the poor being okay (clearly this is a simplification regarding the safety nets in place for the poor). If we add up the mis-spoken comments Mitt is going to rack up a ton of them. He is clearly less articulate than Barack, who did misspeak and was taken out of context on the small business quote. There is a constistant weirdness about Mitts misstatments though like Barack not understanidng the Anglo-Saxon heritage stuff. That is just plain weird and does have some significant racist overtone
  9. I would ask her. Big band music, vocalists, and R&B may not be what she really likes. It could be that she likes the Beatles and old rock and roll. LouieB
  10. Whats the difference really. Each candidate is going to say stupid stuff because they have to talk non-stop and everyone says stupid stuff when they talk. It was a bad idea to go to London and say stupid shit, but so it goes. LouieB
  11. Really. I have the original first two LPs, LP reissues and all the rest of the LPs, and the box set. Enough is enough. LouieB
  12. I don't watch Stephanie Miller but I do listen to her on the radio. I listen to WCPT in the Chicago area alot actually, but it too gets irritating. Rachel Maddow can also be irritating on TV, as can Ed Schultz. LouieB
  13. If it is the same as years past there are two stages where the acts alternate, sort of like the main stages at Pitchfork. Its nice to see that they added Kelly, former Hideout bartender. LouieB
  14. Based on the guys words it sounds pretty good. I can wait until September 11th. (which is when Love and Theft was released by the way if my memory serves me well.) LouieB
  15. When I looked for Kelly's first album years ago, it was hard to find and expensive. The Jody Grind CDs are easier to find. The two on Bloodshot are just fine, so get those. LouieB
  16. Close the motherfucker down. Football is way too important, particularly at Penn State. Everyone needs to know it is just a fucking game. The entire Penn State community closed ranks around JoePa. Even his family can't quite deal with it. At some point a university is supposed to be about educating people, not running high priced football programs. Take down the statue, close down the program for a couple years, and let them get back to the central mission of the university, then they can have football again. LouieB
  17. Come Together is already based on an old song by Chuck Berry. How does that work? I sure hope this album is better than his last one. LouieB
  18. I I think Rosie still has one, not sure. We had it on our mantle for awhile. Not sure where it is now. We sebt Natalie a postcard from St. Geneveive one time. LouieB
  19. Okay. Crank up a Jim O'Rourke song in her honor. I was wondering if there is any way to get an actual print copy of this thing? I don't do ebooks but would still like to read it. There must be some sort of cost recovery way to do this. LouieB
  20. Well if Ted Leo covered them, they've got to be cool. LouieB
  21. It appears that the buzz has gone out of Pitchfork music fest. But if anyone does come to it, don't forget to stop by and see me in the record tent. I am there selling used LPs and cassettes once again. And if anyone has comments about the fest maybe post up. LouieB
  22. Ya gotta give Romney some props for showing up at the NAACP and dissing Obamacare. That takes some balls. Mostly it is a dog whistle to his constituents that he isn't afraid of colored people. LouieB
