Somehow the really heavy songs tend to grab me first. On Sukierae, it was "Nobody Dies Anymore". On Warm, it's definitely "How Hard It Is For A Desert To Die." I heard that for the first time solo acoustic, and it was one of those songs that just stops you in your tracks. All I could manage to say was "wow". The album version is beautiful. I love all the open space in the song, and the unhurried and sparse, condensed lyrics. Gorgeous. (I posted the following on the FB, but some of y'all just don't go there). Today… …marks the one-year anniversary of my retirement from Lexmark, where I worked for 33 years. My “plan” a year ago was to take a year off, decompress, travel, catch up on domestic honeydo’s… oh, and see at least 50 concerts. Then figure out years 2 – n. I did take the year “kinda” off. An opportunity to do some independent consulting came along in the summer, so I did that for about 3 months. I liked it, and hope to do more. 50 shows in the year after I retired (which was 12/4/17). The hiatuses(?) aligned, so not a single Wilco show on my list!!

aw shucks .... thanks man. No, I'm not counting Friday (3 songs??? nah.... ). But I am certainly not opposed to latter idea, and I do think I'll get a couple more shows before my deadline (12/4).

Certainly could have been. But the original album was called "Masseduction" (as in mass seduction), the same as one of the tracks. And the re-release was called "Masseducation". Apparently she bought the extra "a". The track on the new release is still called masseduction, fwiw. I still can't look at the album cover without thinking of one of the answer cards from Cards Against Humanity which is "Tasteful sideboob".

It wasn't anticipated, or even known about (at least by me), but I am really loving this new version of Masseduction by St. Vincent. It's all vocals out in front of a lone piano. Awesome. Had it on repeat since Friday.

Will it fit in the trunk?
