Jeff Tweedy Chicago Vic questions about venue
theashtraysays replied to Cheesetime's topic in After The Show
Welcome.... It's a great little venue. Bar in the back, btw The gold circle seats are the first 5(?) rows in the front, with folding chairs that are packed in pretty tight. Behind that, there's a rail, then a couple of tiers with seats going back to the bar. Balcony up top that goes up pretty steep. Those seats in the gold circle are obviously great seats. If you get there at doors (7:00), you should be able to get a nice seat near the center. Any of those 5 rows is a great seat (stage is high enough such that any of those are good). You probably won't get there early enough to req -

I don't think I've ever heard a more appropriate name for the music within an album than "Happiness of Living". The record was birthed in Brazil, and has a blend of Brazilian rhythms, space-pop, sounds, noises, psychedelia, and even vocals(!) which are pure joy. It's extremely musical, with tunes that are both catchy and too-weird-to-be-catchy at the same time. Check out some of the articles (RS here http://www.rollingstone.com/music/features/on-fillmore-wilco-related-duo-learns-to-let-go-in-brazil-w472547 and Chicago reader here http://www.chicagoreader.com/chicago/fillmore-glenn-kotche-da

For those of you who were able to "sign the sign" that some crazy fanboy dude* brought to the show and passed around the pit.... you'll be happy to know that it put a smile on the face of a certain favorite singer of ours. Thanks all for making it a great show and a great evening / weekend. So great to catch up with friends old and new, and spend a fantastic couple of days in Chicago. Vince * crazy fanboy dude would be me, of course.

Having not heard NAK live yet, I was happy for that particular repeat. I have to admit I was a little underwhelmed that the first 3 song run was the same. But sunken treasure and kamera sure sounded great, and I thought the setlist overall made for a great show. One Jeff comment about the crowd was dead on: that the Saturday night crowd was clearly people who had been drinking since early in the day. I thought that they/we kinda ran out of gas at the end with spiders after the BT triple-play. Especially on the floor. It looked like the balcony (what I could see) was actually more energetic t

A, when the hell did you take up running? B, if you were any good at it, you should have been able to OUTRUN a 91YO in a Buick. C, if it had been a black Nova I would have been way more impressed. Seriously man, that's terrible news. Not at all what the dagwave needs these days. But I do hope the Beacon show works out better. It will. Then you can heal up before June and we'll see you at SS5. Oh, and pics or it didn't happen. Cheers!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I for one am THRILLED with the current Jayhawks lineup and latest album. Excited to hear what's next for them. That reunion album was nothing special imo. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
