  1. OK, my final bump on this one. Apparently tickets aren't selling like hotcakes; I got a "groupon" in my email a couple weeks ago for $15 tickets (for the good $32 seats), so I lucked out on that. Lots of seats left... The SCFA website lists the program as : I wonder if he's bringing the crickets this time? ed: yes, there is a NYC show on Apr 30 in Carnegie Hall...
  2. I haven't heard any of the new album yet, but I did catch them on Leno last night and I must say I was a little underwhelmed. They played "Down by the Water". Just OK, but less than I expected. For the record, I think that The Hazards of Love is a fabulous album. Doesn't seem to get a lot of love here.
  3. I am SO looking forward to the Steelers pounding the jets next week. Seriously.
  4. The post by Vacant Horizon that "i listen to the music so much more when it's on cd rather than on my ipod" got me thinking.. Putting stuff on your ipod is often not the same 'investment' as buying or even burning a CD. I suppose that we wind up with a lot of stuff on our 60 or 120 gigafratz devices that we put there and have never listened to at all. Ever. I've had songs come up on 'random' that I had no idea what they were. I had put them on the ipod in some big 10 CD rip from the library or whatever, and never got around to listening to some. Well?
  5. clearly you've come to the write place
  6. Are you using the yodelers on Dash 7? I love that version...
  7. Little Johnny goes trick or treating dressed as a pirate. He goes up to a house by himself, rings the doorbell, and says "trick or teat!". Old man comes to the door with some candy, looks over little Johnny's costume, looks around, and seeing no other children says "you're quite the little pirate, there. Where are your buccaneers?" Little Johnny replies "Right here on the side of my buckin' head, same as yours."
  8. I think a webcast of one of these shows would be in order. It's been a while... and I don't know that there's ever been a Tweedy solo webcast. I would "listen in"...
  9. I like the new one... "highly messed up freak baby"
  10. this made me laugh. are you sure you logged in to the right board? Happy New Year everyone. I'm ready for a good one!
  11. Dear Sue, Happy new year! Please go ahead and post the announcement for the upcoming show. Thank you. Your friend, TAS
  12. Well, great oranges certainly need a great tool. Pampered Chef makes it, but you can find it elsewhere on the interweb. I guess that's kinda obvious.
  13. This. I had one forever, then lost it. Kids got me another one this year. It's awesome.
  14. Well? Slightly more thought out than pure cash, check, or money order... but there's no concealing how much you love someone (monetarily speaking) on these. I didn't, but the kids all got some from cousins and grandparents... i-tunes and gamestop topped the list. I wouldn't have minded getting an i-tunes one myself, truth be told.
  15. Have a great one, Neil! "39", yeah right. Vince
  16. Via Chicago live, where the rumble & noise are loud enough to collapse your lungs.
  17. You should definitely have your second cup of coffee before you go shopping.
  18. thank you. apparently I'll have to wait till after work to get that.
  19. one of the educational benefits of VC is all the hip new words I learn here. Most of them make sense, and I can get the meaning from context. But I admit I'm stumped on hunyock. Little help on that one? Oh, for the record, I dislike the car commercials as well. Anything that tells me I have to spend 40 grand plus to show someone I love them is simply evil. In particular, the Kia commercial which is a ripoff / clone commercial to the others is just lame and unnecessary. I know the Koreans are generally into me-too kinds of products, but that commercial is particularly blatant in its l
